This service is run in such a crack the whip style of management where uses intimidation and bullying tactics to get people to perform. They also threaten peoples employment when they don't perform.

One particular manager finds out personal information about staff members and the. Uses it against them when they are vulnerable.

The program is run poorly and unprofessionally with people who do not know the contract and guidelines.

Steer clear from this place.

Managing and leading a team of 8 permanent staff, as well as agency and casual staff.  Managing a residential unit, housing 4 young people, all who have high risk behaviours.
Day to day tasks including rostering, maintaining petty cash, budgeting, planning activities, attending meetings internal and external, case notes, emails, reports, supervision of staff and managing whatever arises on a day to day bases.

A typical day is very long; showering and personal care; assisting with meals and then general cleaning  afterwards.
I have leaned that a big part of my work is communication it is the key.
Team work is also a major part of running a good house. 
Hardest part of my job is when the people I support get sick and you feel hopeless. I am too emotionaly attached sometimes.
Most rewarding part is seeing there smiling faces every day.

Working with Asylum seekers was at times, challenging but mostly an enjoyable experience.
Interacting with the clients gave a wonderful insight to their culture and goals to live in this country

I like working in all three houses. We recently had the change of management and looks like the new management is doing there job right. But still some third party management people are trying to look for your mistakes and being so mean.

If they haven't changed their policies and procedures in relation to staff engagement then I would suggest nothing has changed. Within the year I had worked there the Executive Management changed constantly. the longest serving Exec was only there 7 months before it turned over once again. 

Wesley Mission was a great organisation a few years ago but the culture changed dramatically. Since it merged with Uniting it no longer cares about it’s staff. An awful culture.

my current role is an ever changing role as i deal with people who's needs change on daily or weekly basis.  We the staff have to adapt to our clients needs as they change.

The people there are nice and are very fun to talk to, very helpful and encouraging. The location is very clean and very organised. The people working in the location are also very respectful to all people.
