The foundation of my day is being present for the students in my care. Their needs and well being are my priority. The students are the core business and planning for their needs and teaching them is my highlight. 
I enjoy reading and exploring new ways in which to do my job better. I enthusiastically help others and make myself available for professional discussions. I find this stimulating and it is good to find out what others are implementing in their classrooms.
Working with others who are professional and have a good work ethic is important. It is important that those who organise school systems and curriculum allow sufficient time for new initiatives to be put in place and become successful. Too much, too soon, without a clearly articulated vision that is transparent to all, makes working as a team to achieve a goal problematic.

I have been at Wesley for six years and really enjoyed the culture and opportunity to learn from some excellent managers and mentors.
The Principal is an excellent educator with vision and passion.

The Foundation supports the College with capital campaigns funds for scholarships an active and growing bequest society.

My work is varied with donor profiling database management face to face fundraising major gifts solicitation and maintaining relationships with alumni and parents.

Often the work is very process driven and too desk bound and there is no real career path.

The most interesting aspect is meeting alumni and parents and the wonderful College events.

Factors such as ineffective leadership, vision, professional courtesy, rigidly implemented routines, poorly resourced or unsafe learning environments and inappropriate teaching practice went a long way to one feeling as though there was little sense or understanding by managers of what high-quality education looks like. Managers lacked the capability to change practice, often believing that their way was operating well. The poor quality practice was often entrenched and a lack of willingness or motivation to change prevailed. 

As I understand it, there has been a collective management upheaval recently, from the head principal down.

Wesley College is a great place to work. As Administration Manager for the Community College, my job entailed working with both Campus and College staff and the general public. I have excellent customer service abilities, can work both independently and as part of a team. As the tasks involved in this role were many and varied I have developed excellent time management skills and to multi-task.

Wesley College provided me with the opportunity to develop my teaching skills further by putting me directly in the classroom. With four classes of varying year levels to teach, I quickly learned to adapt to the needs of each student, taking into account their past French speaking experience so that I could tailor their learning experience to one that would produce optimal results.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The students are energising and makes working at Wesley enjoyable 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The senior staff make decisions from the top without knowledge of what happens at the grass roots 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culture can vary depending on staffing decisions

Working at Wesley was the best experience in my life. Staff are well supported and cared for and every good deed is appreciated and acknowledged immediately. It is a very positive environment with excellent management and work colleagues. I would give it a 100/100 - the best workplace ever!

The executive make decisions in a corporate manner with no engagement with staff.  Any disagreement is dismissed as rocking the boat and deligitamised instantaneously.  It is very much who you know and not what you know that contributes to advancement.

We would follow the course guidelines that I set up for the season and get ready for games that took place on the weekends.  I learned how to manage time and members of the team as we would travel to various locations for games.

Great staff members that always offer support. The college provides all the sporting material needed for the coaching which reduces the stress for coaches.
Kids have always been friendly and highly motivated.
