Each day brought something new, I had to be able to work under pressure to ensure stakeholders and clients needs were met, and there were no hold ups which could potentially delay the projects.
I learnt how to be fluid and problem solve.
Good management is trusting the people hired to do the best job.
Workplace culture is very important, it dictates the outcome/success of a company at the end of the day.
The hardest part of a job is managing frustration when there are unnecessary roadblocks.
The most enjoyable part is when problems are solved and work can continue providing a positive outcome.

WDS management where not afraid to people into jobs that where slightly out of their depth to develop their skills, it is a company where you are continually learning and developing skills.
co workers where a diverse group of mostly contractors with long established relationships with WDS and always prepared to assist.
Job hours where at times long but a good positive work culture made for easier days.

Too many poor decisions on staffing requirements, then made repeated management changes that repeatedly made the same poor decisions. Let a lot of good experienced staff go due to procedure while replacing them with inexperienced people.
No problems other than that - Good salaries, safe working conditions, training opportunities were all there.

A company that rapidly grew and largely changed over the course of the time I was there. My work colleagues were a great team of people and I had supportive management throughout my time. My role was varied and I was across a number of different areas in the business, maintaining my interest and ensuring I consistently had challenges and variety.

Long days  on 21 day roster ,
Learned about management decisions 
Co workers ,Great team on site ,Bur company lacked outside support 
Hardest part of job ,Was dealing with remote locations .Time frames requested ,But not always possible .
Most enjoyable ,working with a great team .Dedicated workers

I'm employed as a MULTI SKILLED OPERATOR, I have been operating CAT 14H/140M/16M  grader on an irrigation pipe line. We are in between contracts, so looking for other work opportunities.

Original concept inappropriate and difficult to implement
Last 3 months spent redesigning operations and equipment
Now achieving results
Management at site supportive and consultative
Workforce willing and competent

Industry challenges ahead as the market tightens.  Opportunities exist for this company to step up and become an employer of choice one day.  Workers are willing, dedicated and committed to safe work practices.

WDS had the ability to be a great company but it was lead to heavily by people not on site.
The project was good but short staffed.
The crew was a very experienced group of blokes who had been together for a few years.

Company no longer trading and will no longer trade in the future.  the senior management at head office fail the workers by not ensuring a safety culture was maintained, showed all the good intentions but failed in their own practices.
