This is a job like no other! 

Being paid to utilise your voice for such amazing causes/ charities whilst earning an ethical living, sometimes travelling around Australia and working with young, fun, like minded humans that share similar goals and passions. 
Meeting a complete stranger and inspiring them through what you have learnt about the charity you are working for is such a positive rush and unlike anything I have ever experienced before, it has help me become more outgoing, handle all different types of personalities and most importantly know I am apart of a more ethical cycle and company. 
I have never had any issues with pay's or bonuses and everything that was in the job description back when I applied was accurate, so through the recruitment process, training and then out in the field on the job, there were no hidden surprises or let downs, 
This is an awesome job if you don't want to be stuck in an office or retail space bored and if you want a challenge and to be working towards positive and ethical targets both for your self and your campaign.

This job really is only for people who can handle harressing people for several hours a day. Your job is to jump in front of them and almost force them to stop to talk to you and if you don't you are quickly let go. You are told to be constantly moving and lively which after the 200th person telling you to go away is pretty hard not to mention exhausting. Yes you are fundraising so are helping out charities but as many people will tell you it gives the charity a bad name when you are annoying people all day who are just trying to pop to the shops. You are told not to take no for an answer and it's considered a waste of time if you chat to someone and they don't sign up, even though you are raising awareness which is surely part of the job.

All this made me leave after just a couple of days. I was told I'd be paid properly. Shock horror I was not and have been chasing them ever since.

There are better fundraising jobs out there ones where they genuinely try and help and give you time to improve.

I worked in Perth fundraising for 3 months, got to go on 3 travel trips which were a lot of fun and I got to meet people from the Melbourne and Queensland teams too. 

I saved enough money to continue travelling as a backpacker around Australia. My wages went up within the first 2 weeks as I hit my targets and I made bonus most weeks.

Work socials were fun and I made so many friends with the other team members. 

Sometimes I felt a little pressured as it is a results based job however I always had the support from my team leader and manager to hit them most time.

I'd recommend this job to other backpackers that want to travel and if you are from overseas you will make many friends. Thank you to the ways team for making me more confident and for the time I spent here, I am hoping to work again when I reach qld.

The thing I loved about this company was the money you could earn, but at the same time it is so rewarding as you're doing something for such good causes.There can be a bad stigma around fundraising, which definitely made me hesitant to say the least. But when I worked here I was treated very well, they're very rewarding to those who are clearly working hard and so supportive. The social side and how it feels like a family is what made it so much fun working there, the people are awesome and i loved the experience.

I loved working at WAYS. Coming over as a backpacker from Germany I had no friends. This company made me feel like a part of a team and I became close friends with every one. 
I raised a lot of money for a charity and visited Tasmania and Darwin whilst working for them.
Most weeks I even made commission 
I would recommend this to others who like to make new friends, travel and make money. 
I can see this job is for outgoing people as it is not a office job, I am high energy so it suited me perfectly. Also I love to smile and it made me smile every day.

Worked as a fundraiser. Manager was one of the most unintelligent people I have ever met, for example he forgot to bring materials needed to work. We were expected to go to some of the poorest areas in Sydney and try to sell these people charity packages they can't afford, which isn't impossible but it's hardly somewhere you are going to get a lot of sales. There is no job security and the promise of moving up quickly is a lie. The only good thing about this job is the highish pay but even then you probably won't last long enough to even be paid that much.

I have worked at WAYS Fundraising for 2 years now and have enjoyed every day of it. WAYS provides incredible opportunity to develop your skills and progress into more senior roles. 

The directors are heavily involved with the day to day running of the company, helping to provide an ever developing national team of awesome employees. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting new people each week and watching people receive personalised training and development to take their career to the next step!

Totally warped expectations for you to be at a senior standard within a week of starting. No integrity with employees teaching you to just make things up and lie to bosses. Have to chase your pay persistently if you want to get it. Will fire anyone who isn't yet up to standard (within first starting) instead of teaching them how to improve. Just in it for the money, not really caring about other staff or their customers at all. Honestly I thought I would really love this job but WAYS made it so hard to do that.

have to meet at booth at 830 in the morning when it actually says in contract 9 to 5 brief meeting with team leader than start stopping people qualify them to check if they are over 21 than have a chat build rapport
you have very high energy be positive positive positive 
the pay is ok but the thought of not signing up someone your job could be on the line 


management is unprofessional 
 

the hardest part of the job is the rejection 

the best part of the job is you get to grant wishes for little kids

Great company to work for. Pay on time, actually receive bonus, people get sponsored.
A lot of people leave because they don't hit their targets. From what I've seen that isn't the company's fault. The training is fun and adequate enough to hit these targets. The effort and attitude that the individual puts in is usually why people leave. They expect the working environment to be a breeze. People do well if they want to work hard and not give up.
