The Service Desk staff are friendly, and helpful.  The managers are friendly, approachable, and always ready to listen and help when they can.  The atmosphere in the office is relaxed, even allowed (and encouraged!) to bring in and fire Nerf guns throughout the office.  The dress code is relaxed (shorts, t-shirt and trainers!) and the working hours are good, to ensure a good working life balance.  

The Vocus Group Service Desk is a great place to start your IT career.  However, many of the current staff members have been working on the Service Desk for 2 - 5 years plus.  Therefore, there isn't much opportunity to move and progress if you are already technical, or pick up new technologies fast.  I was already heavily Cisco certified, and Degree educated, so this wasn't the right role for me.  I moved on after a short period of time, and within days was hired in a Network Engineering role.

The salary is good for a Service Desk role, the people are nice, and the working environment is relaxed...what more could you want?!

no formal training, no support, lack of communication, no respect to peers in seperation, Lots to Learn if into learning new Skills however no proper training or built in Resources, communications skills are so poor during long terms peers, since you never get the chance to meet none during Covid19 - WFH, Customers comes first whichs fair enough but never peers comes second, Bad supporting Managemnt, cooparate rules so Money comes first, Fragile when it comes ob security, fast paced, quantity vs quality etc. however overall was good experience starting WFH for the first time with no proper support or proper tools, gave me the agility to last six months technically struggling for support, forget to mentioned no proper feedback from none not even on seperation. so it was very un professional experience.

Overall I would say that it is a good place to work.
Management is not the most efficient and there is a lot of wasted effort because of this.
Old ways of working are still preferred.
Process maturity is a bit lower with a lot of Ad-hoc work.
People are very friendly and helpful.
Opportunities to grow are present.
Work-Life balance is respected.
Pay is Average for the role.
Post Covid Hybrid way of working in which 2 days in office is encouraged. Wednesday is mandatory in Office and we get the benefit of face to Face Collaboration. Breakfast cereals, Fruits, and a good coffee machine is present in the office.  On average we have one company celebration every month where food and drinks are served. Very good for people who like to collaborate and work with coworkers on a regular basis.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The people, the team the freedom with working autonomously on major projects. Vocus was one of those rare companies that cared for its employees ... the management I worked with were more friends than colleagues

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No stress ... unless you had to deal with upper management who remained clueless at the best of times.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Exceptional. The culture was one of family and support

This company has/had the chance to be great - they could have cherry picked the best people being made redundant for Telcos across the land, instead, they picked old colleagues / friends of friends etc who under-perform and cant even politely be challenged - regardless of the lip service they peddle about collaboration, team, flexibility etc, blah, blah, blah, 
I would try other Telcos, come back to Vocus in a few years when hopefully the leadership and managers may have matured.

Great workplace, rotating shift, 3 seven day weeks on, seven days off, overseeing Warehouse, monitoring of persons on-site, reception duties, maintaining site machinery operation. Great management team, enjoyable reception duties, fantastic amenities. Very secure, clean and safe environment.

Management and work culture is amazing, managers give you instruction, relevant training and the autonomy to do the work with little interference. I work with amazing colleague who makes typical work day a good experience.

Productive day completing corporate IT tickets, including face to face assistance of both hardware problems and software issues. Adding to the internal Wikipedia database was a time consuming and frequent endeavour.

Being part of a NOC team everyday was something different and a learning experience. Although the learning was a steep curve. I experienced a Technology burnout.
