I worked at the Gateway adult day service and it was a great place to work until the new manager started right after Covid finished. They were very harsh on the staff, would yell at us every day and would walk around the workplace swearing which made staff feel very uncomfortable. I did love the job and the clients but found the constant micromanagement very hard to bear and it greatly affected my morale at work. The working atmosphere at the workplace was toxic as there were other workers at the workplace who were very intimidating and who constantly told the casuals off. This made me feel  very uncomfortable.   The hardest part of the job was being yelled at by management and other workers, but there were clients who l was very fond of and did love working with

I have worked for the facility for 6 years now. Since VMCH have taken over not much as changed. We still have the same amount of carers on the floor with an increasing number of resident's with high care needs, as we are aging in place and no longer send resident's requiring more care to another facility. The building itself is quite dated, not equipped with facilities big enough for residents requiring machines to transfer them, bathrooms are small, there is not much room for storage of machines. We used to have a dementia specific area with secured doors for safety, those doors are taken down and everyone is mixed together creating many more behaviours with people with dementia being in a loud environment and often they are able to abscond from the facility with visitors putting them in increasing danger of becoming lost and harmed. A new facility was proposed to be built 3years ago, nothing has eventuated and we are left with a facility that was never built for any of this.

It's a typical cleaning job with a cleaning machine and a vacuum cleaner. It's my first part-time job in Australia. The local manage make me realized that responsibility is not just saying with mouth, I need to do it well for both salary and elders. The hardest part of this job for me is that I have to get up very early in the morning. And the happy moment for me is when I finished cleaning work, left while elders woke up and smiling to me. This motivate me to get up every morning.

I work in a day program in villa maria.This program includes activities for the clients with disability to encourage them to develope their skills in those activities,like swimming,music,yoga,listening stories,interactive interactions,music and movements etc.It is very interesting to interact with innocent people and enjoyable too.We have to be very careful about their health matters like epilepsy management.It is very enjoyable to make them happy when they do beautiful craft works.

As initially a trainee I was supported and guided by my supervisors. After gaining employment I carried out a vast array of duties involving High Needs residents. Working within a team as well as unsupervised I availed myself for all shifts and therefore gained effective experience which ultimately spring boarded me onto my rewarding career in the Health Industry.

enjoyed working with my team and had a great leadership team. Great CEO.Great job satisfaction as a result of services provided to the Victorian community. Enjoyed meeting our stakeholders in various locations.

The HR department bully and intimidate employees and give out incorrect information to employees regarding their entitlements. They put employees at risk by not providing adequate support and information to keep them safe in the workplace. Incompetent management who do not know relevent laws and acts applicable to the industry.

I have learned a lot working in villa maria as a food service attendant.i have learned to deepend my patience and understanding not only to my work mates but to the resident as well.
i had learned from my experience to always get ready and prepare myself for any changes in management or any challenges.
the most enjoyable part is when my hard work being recognized by the resident and the management
