Typical day at work..
Open the shop for the day, most times the till was out or over. Store was not clean, had to run around and clean floors and tidy bags before open as well as figure out why the till was out or over. There wasn't a lot of communication and staff couldn't follow the company's policies in which i had no choice but to leave wasn't happy about my decision but was loosing interest in the company when it was me that had to pick up the pieces..

Learnt..
How ever i learnt about kpi's and budgets and up selling and a older style computer, opening and closing was a lot different to other retail stores. and having the responsibility to teach new staff..

Management,
in store manager was in her own little world most of the time and she wanted to do things her way in stead of the company's, was taught most things wrong according to the area manager, she talked about other staff behind there backs. not the best boss, the store has lost some amazing staff over the time i was there :(

the staff were great lost a lot of great staff tho due to the manager.

the hardest part there wasnt really one

enjoyable part was having a great team before we lost them and just talking to the customers the conversations you can have.

It is a good company to get some experience and enter the workforce, but I would not stay here after I finish studying. 
Having no retail background, I was trained within three shifts and now have a very thorough understanding of policies, products, and procedures. 

However, there is little room for progression and management is lackluster. The lack of contact and feedback opportunities between upper management and retail workers is what is pulling the company behind. Stock styles are also dated, and team dynamics are not well developed. Very young team managers are often leading more experienced team members, this leads to a culture of incompetence.

TYPICAL DAY AT WORK - COME IN, UNPACK ALL BOXES DELIVERED. CHECK ROSTERS AND LOG ON TIMES. CLEAN AND FACE ALL BAGS AND LUGGAGE. HLP CUSTOMERS IN ALL ENQURIES AND GIVE INFO ABOUT ALL TRAVEL NEEDS.

I LEARNED AFFECTIVELY HOW TO OPEN AND CLOSE A RETAIL BUISNESS. I LEARNED END OF DAY. ALL INFO ABOUT HANDBAGS AND LUGGAGE INCLUDING GIVING INFO ABOUT BRANDS, FLIGHT RESTRICTIONS.

MANAGMENT WAS AVERAGE. MUSCH COULD OF BEEN IMPROVED, BUT NOTHING WAS WRONG OR EFFECTED MY WORKING CONDITIONS.

COWORKERS, AGAIN AVERAGE. I MUCH PREFERED WOKING ON MY OWN OR WITH MY 2IC, WHOM WHICH I LEARNT ALL MY SKILLS AND AM ETERNALLY GRATEFUL.

HARDEST PART WAS DEALING WITH CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS AND LEARNING END OF DAY IN 1 SHIFT.

MOST ENJOYABLE.. BEING PART OF A TEAM, AND HELPING ALL CUSTOMERS TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY.

I enjoy working for this company, it involves cash handling and using of eftpos systems, regulating stock, meeting set targets such as KPI's, working as a team and as an individual when needed, dealing with customer enquiries and issues, helping the customer find what they are after and provide information to them about different products, handle sale returns, banking, opening and closing the store and many more aspects.

Working at Victoria Station is an active fun place to work. The customer contact with luggage sales is varied and they tell you all about their travels where they are going where they have been to accommodate their needs.  I enjoy working the stock and storeroom, keeping up sales, KPI's and customer service. There is nothing hard about this job and co-workers are happy and easy to work with.

A typical day at work would consist of being store manager, unpack
and put stock out on shop floor, roster's, staff training, banking, open and closing store, general cleaning and remerchandising.

I enjoy working at a fast pace and giving good customer service.

the teams were great to work for. i had no reason to leave but the companh closed which is unfortunate they sold some fantastic bags and luggage. i worked between 2 stores over my time with then was always welcome.

i loved each day talking to the customers and helping them find the perfect gift or item for themselves.

I enjoyed working at victoria station. Work was fast paced and I kept up. However I was laid off cause of speed rate in fast paced environment however I realised that a couple blokes there took my sheets of orders and initialised it themselves to get their targets and I didnt know that till after I left

Started there as a casual and after working extremely hard to obtain a full time position I was offered one as the assistant manager. I was given lots of responsibility and I really enjoyed learning how to run a business while I was there. The team were a great bunch of people and I met my best friend while working there

Good company to work for. Friendly and approachable staff members.

The company is in the middle of closing down Australia wide

Which unfortunately has put many people out of jobs in short notice
