Victoria Hotel

The Victoria Hotel was the busiest pub in Wagga Wagga and it would see thousands of people over the course of a weekend. It frequently had famous DJ's perform there and thus would bring in more patrons than other venues. It taught me how to be a friendly and efficient at the same time. It paid to keep your area tidy so as to increase work flow. 
The management weren't afraid to dig in and get their hands dirty and they were always around if you needed their help with something. 
The hardest part of the job would've been the late night finishes as it took some adjusting and having to deal with potentially violent or rude patrons. 
The most enjoyable part was even though I was working and always got to see most of my friends out and about during my travels.

A typical day for me was balancing bar tills and shift takings, dealing with drunk and annoying patrons and reception duties for accommodation as required as well as general cleaning. During my time here I learnt to deal with a wide variety of people. Management weren't there of a night time unless it was a weekend so I didn't really see them but they were approachable and did provide any training that was needed. The staff while I was there were great although with the variety of shifts we all worked we didn't get to socialize together to much. The hardest part of the job was dealing with difficult patrons and at times the lack of communication from management. The most enjoyable part of my job was talking to the regular patrons.

Work starts with purchasing and replenishing of stocks in the morning and it would continue till closing time for a total of 14 hours a day.
Hard work does not pay as sentiments of patrons are volatile.
Always keep an eye on the till and money must be personally handled by the boss.
Every effort is made by staff for personal gains.
Dismissing staff is a dangerous stunt as they tend to boycott the business totally.
Getting away from work is the best and most enjoyable part of the job.

The chef was very hard working and knew how to push you to your limits when she knew you were ready, she understands your requirements and your abilities and helps you develop in areas that require those abilities. The most enjoyable part of the job was preparing the various foods for the customers and the smell of the food. When it wasn't so busy the chef would cook us some chips to eat on break. The hardest part of the job was keeping up with the pace because I am not used to being a fast paced person.

I learned to work in a multidisciplany team and become very time efficient. I am an excellent team player and am very good at prioritising tasks. I provide great customer service and I am a fast learner. I enjoy making customers satisfied and helping other team members. I feel I will make a great asset to your team.

Was a few years ago when I worked there so much has changed there.
They’ve renovated and changed up everything.
Added extra rooms , really modernised the inside of the building.
Job was more given on who you know in small towns but I was thankful for learning and gaining née skills and experiences.

the housekeeping, and yardkeeping were my favourite part about this position, as they keep me busy. Victoria hotel was not my favourite place to work as it could do with a bit of renovations. it was good to gain experience.

Great place to get experience, great workplace if interacting with customers is something you look forward to. Great workmates, develop good friendships

Communication from the managers is quite good. It an easy job and most people can do this job.Even so you are expected to work weekends. It is in the center of Melbourne and very easy to get to.
