Most enjoyable part was being able to work your own hours. Problem became very apparent as said by not only myself but many other employees- too many people were hired, jobs given reduced to a rediculous rate eg- the cost of fuel sky rocketed, the jobs given didn’t even cover the kilometres needed to pick up then deliver. It got to the point they’d send through a job 20kms to pick up n deliver and the money offered would be less than $10 total- a lot of times, the area you’d deliver had no restaurants/food outlets around at all, so no benefits to return to a destination where food outlets were. The price of fuel went up as I said, however the money paid for a single job was totally not worth it. Then they would give you up to 3 jobs - you think was a decent amount- problem was - their kilometres were never true, sometimes you’d have to wait 15-30minutes for your 2nd or 3rd pick up, first customers food would be cold even in a correct bag, you’d then get a bad rating and then be penalised for it- even though there’s not a thing you could do. Most annoying part and everyone sees it more so now than ever- the rules/regulations state (even restaurants have a sign stating): no correct bag, no delivery.! What a joke, drivers constantly go and collect food without a bag. Worst of all, and I’ve witnessed it myself- the delivery driver will get the food, sit in their car, eat the food and then put notes on the system- address couldn’t be found, or they dropped off food- someone must have taken it! So many restaurants used to tell me that happened so many times and they have a really hard time #1 getting any compensation from Uber eats, #2 the restaurants get horrible reviews! We have to get a police clearance- when people blatantly lie and eat food that customers have paid for should be instantly sacked/dismissed and reported for theft - which in reality that’s exactly what it is. They then should not be able to pass a police clearance. I had a really good name and restaurants used to love me going there to pick up and deliver because they knew I would do my job efficiently and professionally with correct bag and politeness. Uber eats needs to monitor each employee and I can assure you- 70% should be reported and not have a job. Unfortunately the bad employees have out numbered the decent honest 1’s and are losing out. Many customers are going to other companies. Bonuses start off good, but then slowly they dwindle down to hardly any at all and again- there are too many people employed and not much money to be made anymore- leave alone the pay rate doesn’t compare to the huge jump in fuel prices. Customer service operator’s when you’re out on the road and desperately need help- absolutely useless. 1 time I was in dia-straights with the destination I was meant to go to- it was approximately 11:30pm and maps took me to the middle of no where- no one helped me- I got a response 2days later- so incredibly unsafe and unprofessional especially a young woman on her own. Wouldn’t recommend this job to anyone until customer care is done correctly for not only safety reasons but for clients aswell.

What is the best part of working at the company?
About the only goof thing is the total flexibility. You can start and finish when you like, there are no uniforms, and no bosses breathing down your neck.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The pay is often quite poor for the hours you put in. Deliveries can be anything from a small packet or a pizza, to 30 bags of groceries. Customers can be pushy, and parking hard to find. Eg: a Woolworths order might be 15 or more bags going 10 kms, and only paying around $8. You get 30 seconds to make a decision on whether to accept an order or not. Uber will throw in a hidden extra going far away, for little to no extra, or offer an extra delivery for $4, which isn't worth it (such as groceries). On top of all this you don't know where you're going to until you have picked up the order. All this is in your own car with no allowances for fuel or wear and tear.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not good. You are on the road dealing with traffic and associated parking laws. Many drivers don't focus on the job, instead talking on the phone all day in a foreign language, and upsetting customers and stores, meaning a loss of income long term.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day can be good or bad. You may have a lot of deliveries come your way, or you might get very few. You go out in the hope of getting "offers" and making your day worthwhile, all with no guarantee of income.

It’s decent for what it is. There were weeks where I made over $2000. If you work 7 days a week, are disciplined to start at peak hour eating times and work to get those bonuses you can make good money. Vibe to your own music, work whatever suburb take any day off…it’s a good gig.

Some downsides however…
Petrol and cost. If you have a fuel draining car and are reckless on the road…it won’t be worth it. 

They don’t compensate you if you injure yourself on the job. I rolled my ankle bad on the job and was out for a week..that’s one week with no income. 

You’ll have to know what restaurants to avoid at times and that takes your own guest work. They don’t pay you to wait (menulog does though), so you need to know when to cancel orders or places to avoid because you’ll be stuck which will severely effect your income. 

Lastly no day is the same and hours are the same with your wage. Weekends are great, you’ll earn $30 an hour easy during dinner because everyone’s hungry, weekdays…$20 an hour on slow hours and days. It’s a different mind shift you have to have. You just focus on earning a total amount per day, and that requires you to work more some days and less others.

I see UE cops quite a bit of hate and just outright unfair critisism. Dashing is not going to work for everyone, and you need a certain set of circumstances for it to be worth your time such as:
>>living close to food hubs like a CBD, shopping centre, busy fast food franchises etc.
>>operate a small, fuel-efficient (and SAFE) car that's either a hybrid or 4-cylinder engine
>>if you want to make money, you usually need to work the "popular"** hours (explained below)
>>you can't be afraid to utilise "creative parking" and driving manoeuvres that nearby signage says is prohibited (u-turns, no left/right turn, etc.) or youll find yourself driving way more than you need to. That being said, ALWAYS be safe when doing ANYTHING on the road and if in doubt, just take the long way.


**By "popular", I mean doing hours like dinner shifts during the week when you'd normally be cooking for, and/or, eating with family, or working Saturday nights and Sunday lunch instead of going out or seeing friends.

Overall working for 12 hours is good for earning some money but lunch and dinner would be great timing. But it's just a part of time.not fit for paramanet based. Because hourly rates or approximately 14,18 and expensis extra

Low rates and much expensis. If you work for 12 hours a day and you earn around 250 with 300 km driven with a 45 $ fule expensis. All other vehicle maintenance sepreat. What do you 🤔

It's depends on your behaviour and dealing. There is totally you r your own boss.

Thursday, Friday, Saturday
But overall full week 7 days if you working part time like 3,4 hours a day it's much difficult to earn it orders. Because they prefer full time working person 🤪

You can work your own hours,, take breaks  anytime. You get to choose your delivery order,and cancel orders that  don't  suit you .

Driving lots of hours in heavy traffic.Long wait times for orders at restaurants at busy times. Delivering orders at night, with no street lights.

The company is professional with how the app is set up, and giving information for workers safety and how to do the job of food  delivery

Loved working with them, I was remote and was with this company for 4 years since they first opened. Pay was great and lots of flexibility.
Only two things to note: because I was remote, I had very little information as to how the office is actually run and only a few contacts, and 2, I was released during COVID with no warning. Which was a shame considering I had been with them since the beginning. I even emailed them to reconsider of would be willing to join a different part of the company but since I was remote, no one bothered to reply to me.

Start working at anytime. Good for a part time job to earn extra money on the side

Probably waiting for orders. Need to bear in mind that every day is different.

You have your own freedom. Working for yourself at anytime.

Just working, and choosing the time I want to work.

The application location do not always take you to the place it really is. Sometimes it is difficult to find the delivery place and you loose time because of that. The money you get depends on the number of deliveries that one makes and it is not easy to get orders (one or two orders per hour), also the money depends on how far you travel and the time it takes you it is tricky sometimes because the location issue explained before.
