U.S. Army

I enjoyed working at this facility which is located in Natick, MA. Being a summer employee working in the field I was studying at college and returning as a project officer (Textile Technologist) after graduation was a great opportunity. The directorate I worked for provided extensive training to improve skills and meet career objectives in order to advance. Supervisors, co-workers, and administration was very supportive and informative. They want you to succeed and do well. The culture was mix of soldiers and civilians of many races and backgrounds. I remember travelling the country to conduct wear testing at various forts and centers which was such great experience as a young adult. I loved going to "Culture Day" which was set up in a main area where you could enjoy appetizers, candy, and beverages from many different countries. They have an annual summer family party where you could meet co-workers family members and eat, drink, and play games/activities.

As my Army career has progressed, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of diverse jobs ranging from managing supply warehouse operations to petroleum, air traffic control, Supervising a team, loading and unloading various of top dollar Army Equipment and navigational assistance, mechanical as well as welding. Currently, my military job is Petroleum Supply Specialist. Recently, I had the opportunity to continue my Army Career as a Reserve soldier as a Human resource Leader. 
             
My current job requires me to test vehicles, their components and systems, supervise material flow, storage and global order fulfillment, operate and maintain over $100K worth of equipment, attend/participate in all driver safety meetings and assist with the Safety Risk Management (SRM) process. This is only a partial view of my work experience and background.

I have learned a lot at the job so far.  The FSR's are awesome, positive and helpful.  Honestly, the management is no problem to me.  It's the co-workers on the opposite shift.  They are a bunch of cry-babies & lazy.  We do almost all of the work on the 1st shift.  All they have to do is watch the camera.  The complain and complain about ever little thing.  Other than that, the company is decent to me, and the actual job is fun, interesting & a learning process.  If/When the AeroStat goes down for whatever reason(s), it's time to really get to work all 12hr none stop (besides lunch) so if it's winter time, be prepared because it's cold.  Brruuuuhh, it's cold.

The Army is not for everyone, but for those who feel called to serve, the Army is a great place to get experience, improve work ethic, and get money for higher education. Sure, the days can drag on and the jobs can get tedious, but you get to move around the country every few years, have great opportunity for advancement, and get the opportunity to serve overseas. Compensation is great when you include living allowances, COLA, and various duty pays. Can be rough on your family, but there are strong networks for soldiers, spouses, and children on base.

Everyone in my workplace is constantly training and practicing to improve their personal abilities to assist with mission accomplishment. On a daily basis these personnel inspire others to do the same. The management is unparalleled, which is the most enjoyable part of the job, but also the hardest part of the job. Being a leader has been challenging, but overall successful. The people that I am responsible for leading all look up to me for guidance on a daily basis.

Leaned a lot of vast information and different approaches on how to handle different scenarios and and training events to better the job. The hardest part about the job was working long extended hours and being away from family. Traveling and meeting new personnel would be the most enjoyable part of it.

I absolutely recommend everyone to at least  do a 3 year enlistment to get your future started.  Security clearance, life insurance, skill set, etc.  I did knot expect to be where I am today if the Army did not influence my choices.

They were about 50 -100 militaries  i have to cook and served daily,despite this i was up to the task and was very efficient and timely to prepare the meals.

I enjoy working with the Soldiers, teaching, coaching and mentoring them to be the best at our job. The hardest part of the job is explaining to people who do not share the same MOS about the Supply System or getting information that we need for reports and deadlines.

Hurry up and Work! You are either twiddling your thumbs around the CP or hurriedly doing work. There is little in between. Training is constant. It is both loved and hated by all with little in between. Great experience all said and done. Done is the best part.
