*Typically you'll have to check the right currencies are coming in & sort when they arrive, read many emails, serve a lot of customers & remain balanced.
*I learned I can enjoy working on my own & remain organised in a small space without fear of that small space.
*You will have a manager but your job does not vary much from theirs so you will have to deal with basically being a manager but not on managers pay. Mangers jobs do open up frequently especially if you're happy to commute to a bureau. (FYI you may also be asked to cover shifts in a different town, transport cost is covered time traveled - not so much)
*The customers are mostly friendly as you have small talk on holidays which is a happy topic. Commonly you have to remain calm when balancing it is easy to miss something one minute n think you are over or under on you til until you rectify the problem.
*Hardest part is all the multiple things to remember to do this job is A LOT to mange, it isn't a case of sitting bored with nothing to do unless your Bureau happens to be in a quiet area (mine was not!).
*Best part is time goes quickly n feeling like your own boss. You get to know a team of people via phone calls n emails so you don't feel so lonely. (FYI you need to have a good Area manager & manager though, to sail smoothly through problems that require their help, I had a good experience with mine but a friend quit their job as their AM was unreliable.)
*Biggest thing is that you learn on the job! this job does throw you in at the deep end, if you have time learn the SOPs by reading them whenever possible & contact your team to fill in the blanks so you can be prepared before you are asked something you never thought of by a customer n are left feeling stuck & pressured to help.

It’s good in terms of salary and benefit due to airport location, but more of partial culture while it comes to allocating duties or resolving issues. I have learnt a lot due to busy and ongoing - incoming crowd of visitors from worldwide. It was very fast paced environment and helped me build the skills to work under pressure. I loved my duties and sincerely served the needs of company and customers. Unfortunately many of us of staff had to face similar issues due to the dominance of old staff and partial treatment of managers, as they lost many of the good staff due to favouritism. But I do respect my work I was allocated with because it made me learn a lot and deal with hard situations remaining calm and work smoothly to achieve professional growth.

In my current position at Travelex as Sales Consultant, I continually demonstrate these skills by liaising with staff and customers at all working levels and professional expertise, as well as large corporations on a regular basis to provide and assist with currency exchange. I have demonstrated a high-level numeracy and accuracy skills, whilst working in a time constraint environment that requires initiative and working autonomously, safekeeping of sensitive data of customers and the company, to maximise sales and KPIs.

I am a sound problem solver who works well in a team environment as well as independently. I am flexible in my approach to work and prepared for a challenging new career. I have excellent keyboard skills and experience in using a personal computer, as I have been using it for over 20 years in all aspect of my life, including good knowledge of the MS office suite, such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

- No life/work balance as you are manipulated to pick up shifts

- Poor management structure as managers don't care about you... only if you reach targets
- Very little room for career progression, but kind of possible
- Low pay for the work you are doing
- Can't adjust exchange rate/commissions which result in rude customers
- Very little security in store for off-airport stores
- no acknowledgement for effort
- High employee turnover, always hiring
- Receive full-funded banking accreditation after 6 months
- They hire anyone, EVEN if you have no experience. They just don't want stores unattended. 
- Targets are unachievable and unrealistic

jody(inventory manager) is very hierarchically structured and discourage lower level employees from providing input up the chain. she will never clear the things on the time and in my training period she was always busy in doing all her work on time she never trained me properly.
i always ask her about the splitting currencies and she was always replying be back( its very easy .you will learn it very easy)as result in my three months period i was just counting the money 
in end she said you are not the right person for this job

politics were involved, I wasn’t a part of it. But I felt some element of compitition in the air, which made me wary.

SHAME ON THIS COMPANY

A typical work day for me begins early in morning at 4:30 am
Usually its a busy day, with lots customer interactions, phone calls and foreign exchange transactions.
I have learned to upsell foreign currency and related products to a variety of international customers.
I am constantly interacting and collaborating with my colleagues and management to solve issues and matters arising from my daily activities.
The most difficult part of the job is when there is a slow influx of customers and the revenue is affected.
One of the pleasant part of my job is when the customers are satisfied and leave the store with a smile.

The most happy to work at Travelex is  "working at Airport" environment. 
I love serving happy travelers everyday. 
Target vs Passenger count:
Everyday is different outcome even we have a good passenger count that would not go-well sometime. Everyday we have to expect the unexpected thing goin to be happen. Yes, It could be up size down the target at any day anytime to make management team surprise.
Making Business vs Loses:
Identifying Counterfeed notes is one of the most challenging task in daily work. 

Working at the International airport,  each day is different. Put together with the amazing staff employed by Travelex and the management team the work environment is amazing to work in. 

The hardest part is conversing in different languages with different people from all over the world and that is also one of the most enjoy exciting parts of the job. The downside is the growth within the company and the reimbursement packages are fairly low.
