Need to count till and safe daily, keep up to date with training/regulations, remember the products and how to squeeze them in to conversations, have impeccable data entry and serve every customer with a smile...sounds easy and it can be if the customer is open to having a chat and discussing products that we offer. Hard part of this job is the amount of people who think that because they ask, they should get a better rate than what the business buys the currency at. Having said that, we once we explain why they can't, most customers are happy. Good parts of this job are the targets are relatively easy if in a moderately busy shop and the rewards are awesome such as a paid trip to a different destination each year for the weekend and of course the commission.

The job overall is enjoyable with the right people that you work with however recognition of good work and dedication to job is hard to get.  Training for the job is straight forward for people who are good with numbers and learning things quickly otherwise it can be hard.  Expectations for new beginners starting out are high which makes the job full on sometimes.  Workplace culture is lacking as there isnt much direct support from people above team leaders.  The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to provide people with a necessity when travelling and seeing them come back with a smile every time due to customer service delivered

Meeting people and assisting them with their travel requirements. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of communication from senior colleagues 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great if you enjoy working autonomously,  culture amongst consultants is great but due to the nature of the job, is all on line.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Open, balance till and safe, serve customers,  on line traing in quiet times and keeping the store clean.

Can be very competitive environment. Some Team Leaders think they are higher management. Its just a title people!! 

No yearly increment paid when I worked there. In 8 years not one pay rise!!! Lower Management were clicky and not supportive, not sure after covid. 

More senior management are fantastic. Really supportive and fun.

Paid monthly and only for 30 days. Bad luck for all the months with 31 days, you got no extra cash.

Probably avoid Flight Centre and sister companies if you crave a fair, and well paid environment. 



Management are rude, aggressive, threatening, constantly inform staff that they can be terminated, they lie, spy on staff and are incompetent. This company is all about creating an environment where staff are made to feel worthless and disposable. Staff are often yelled at, swore at and berated by management. If you are thinking about joining Travel Money Oz, do yourself a big favor and DON'T, this would have to be the worst company to work for in the world. If you want to be treated like complete scum, then this is the place for you.

The business focus and pay incentives created levels of stress on the employees and myself. It affected my mental well-being with no support from upper management or HO leaders. My contributions weren't always recognised and my concerns raised weren't always heard. The inequality in pay and recognition made it increasingly difficult to stay motivated and I felt like a burden for struggling with both my mental and physical health in result to this. 

Fun, open and welcoming work culture that allows you to thrive in your own field. Management is incredibly encouraging and willing to accommodate flexible work arrangements. 

Company itself has plenty of perks including monthly buzz nights and a yearly ball. 

If you work hard and prove your worth, the company will go above and beyond to support your endeavours and ensure you are happy.

The pay itself wasn’t brilliant but the bonuses for targets and commissions were fantastic. 
As a team store leader there were quite a few meetings and also help was there if needed by phone . 
They had lots of social drinks and dinners applauding successes. 

The Darwin TMOZ management was really nice. They took care of the employees. The work life balance is great. People I worked with were very jovial and approachable. I received a lot of useful training which helped me in other roles

Drinking and partying was encouraged in monthly ‘award’ nights. 

Training for the position was almost non existent and branches were in centres where they were always going to fail.

The branches were OH&s nightmares, cramped and badly designed.
