Your typical day at work at this company is getting a job request in the evening a day before a shift, so you couldn't really plan your life accordingly.

Luckily for me I had managed to develop good relationships with many clients and had had been requested back many times, especially on longer term gigs.

Management is family based and some of the workers are related to management too. 

Family members are given preference to plum jobs (with more hours and over time) over those who are more competent or better experienced.

This leads to a higher employee turn over where experienced staff leave to go elsewhere. The overall level of combined years of industry experience must be lower compared to elsewhere.

There were a few brown nosed rats in the ranks but many of the co-workers I had worked with were good workers.

There were some that didn't have a clue what to do and they never lasted too long. There were the occasional lazy workers but being the team leader I pulled many up on this.

A Typical day at work at global is always a massive stuff around know one ever knows what's going on or what there doing 

I have learned that in global if you want something done you have to do it yourself because the company wont do it for you 

Management is all family based and so are most of the workers witch entitles them to work everyday and gets every callout and weekend work 

co-workers well its like everywhere you go some are good some are a pain in your back but that's what it is 

the hardest part of the job is that there is no communication with anything 

The most enjoyable part of the job is that you get to go and see things and places that you have never seen before and the end of the day

The work is okay, and challenging. Most co-workers are pleasant and fun to work with. On this job you will get to see lots of new places. The bad news is that unless you are a member of the manager's family or circle of off-work friends, you will have to hope that you get enough work. The most hours and overtime go to the Family. It doesn't matter if you are more experienced, or have more expertise. If you complain, you wont work. Management uses hours and work availability to punish workers, and the manager is notorious for abusing employees verbally.  There is a culture of jealousy, bullying and harassment that is a result of the nepotism and favoritism by the manager. It is not a healthy environment.

Bad eggs. 
Family pick up most hours and arrive not in correct ppe.
No training only reprimanded from manager who is a stress ball, with no people skills.
Pay isn't always what you are entitled...been paid for hrly rate instead of km's travelled if it works out lower $$ for them.
Can have ute all ready with appropriate gear needed, and find it has been stripped by other workers.
Hard to get reimbursed for fuel if you have no fuel card.

Working at Global is great. Work hours are good and the management staff are always there when needing help. It’s a big team enviornment and you’ll feel like part of a big family. The pay is awesome too which is always rewarding when you work traffic control. Overall, I’ve been working for Global for years and don’t see myself ever leaving. I’d highly recommend it.

The biggest bunch of cowboys that I've ever encountered.  Speeding in company vehicles, tailgating other motorists,  non compliant set up of sites, controllers playing on their phones and chatting instead of observing traffic..complain to management and get abused, complain to Worksafe and they're supposedly going to pay a visit.

Good people but management needs improvement from head office down. Better guarantee and distribution of shifts between workers and advancement for hard workers. Needs to invest in new equipment, vehicles and staff training.

not sure what to write. the work is very trying ,long traveling hours ,extreme heat ,very long hours evey day. My co workers are very nice and helpful most of the time. the hardest part of the job is the long hours on your feet and the heat.most enjoyable part is all the places you get to see

a job that pays well,when the work is ongoing.,A friendly  and rewarding day looking after the client and the public.and keeping yourselve ,and fellow workers safe.

Wake up early, get ready, have breakfast, travel to work place, sign in, discuss job, toolbox, fill out safety form, setup workplace, control traffic, remove workplace setup, travel home.
