What is the best part of working at the company?
The 85% of floor staff at my store were the only reason I stayed as long as I did.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Majorly understaffed for the work that needs to be done in a store with a HUGE floor space causing major burn out and stress among employee's, to many people on big money that arent worth what they are being paid.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture is talked up big and they claim that it's amazing but it is very poorly executed, there are clear distinct lines between people in certain pay brackets, and I personally got bullied out of the role I was hired for by my supervisor, cause me immense stress, anxiety and depression.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Earlier starts for tradies, answering large number of phone and email enquiries while also , dealing with customers and suppliers as well as large orders and sales from commercial clients.
Long day' s, short breaks, expected to put in extra work for no over time just TOIL hours.

you're constantly pushed and pushed to do more as there are always 10 more things that need doing. at first you think it will be ok and it will get sorted but it doesn't and when you stop for 5 minutes to gather yourself your seen as being lazy. 

when you work your already over timed hours and get asked to work even more hours but say no you're out.

there seems to be a culture of if you're not sacrificing 95% of your life you're not comitted to the the company and you're moved on for the next employee to suffer similar fates. 

I loved my job there and at times it was amazing but the upper management ruined it.

Very hostile work environment. Most employees are friendly but mostly the management and the owner causing problems.

Disrespectful and impatient managers. Lots of micromanaging and not given any autonomy, as in management expect you to ask for every single task for the entire day. Everything must be done exactly the way management want or they lose their temper. Poor pay practices.

Applied for x role ended up doing something completely unrelated with no explanation. Heard some pretty bad stories whilst working here and truly one of the most unpleasent environments I've worked in.

The owner/manager would ask me to do a task, then while I was doing it, he’d come up to me and tell me that’s not what he asked me to do, even though five minutes before, that’s exactly what task he set for me.  He made me feel like I wasn’t part of the team.  He was a real bully!! This happened a lot.  I ended up not getting any hours.  And when I would call them to ask about that, I got told the manager would call me back later, and he never did.  This happened multiple times!!

The team itself was really good though.  They knew their stuff, and helped me learn.  They all knew about the boss being a bully.  I do NOT recommend anyone to work here!!

This job was very enjoyable (at first) the team members are great, and you develop awesome relationships with the fellow team. The problems lay upon the individuals within the higher ranks of the job, such as BDMs. There is little to no consideration when genuinely sick, as well as constant expectation to work longer hours than what you sign for. I enjoyed being apart of a great team, however, cannot recommend working here, as working is not all about making friends, so the work side of things is terrible.

The salary seemed alright at the start but week after week you are working 42, 44, 46 hours and not earning overtime as you’re salary. Staff turnover is quite high, and the culture is quite toxic. Full of gossip, inuendo, back stabbing etc, makes for quite an unpleasant environment and even when people have complained about bullying/harassment nothing seems to happen.  We always seem to be understaffed so have to work flat out just to keep stock put away. The owners are never here, and help from head office doesn’t really happen. 

Was fun to learn at the start, then all the boring tasks were delegated to all the casuals, eg. wiping the stock down and vacuuming the entire store. We were treated more like cleaners than we were sales assistants. At one point (around the 5-6 month mark), we weren't allowed to even do sales or interact with customers because they inadequately trained us. People are good, customers definitely belong to a certain niche and can lose their patience, but job is boringly simple and management needs to step up.

The owner takes a keen interest in the business and employees but stays out of the way of management in the day to day running of the business, instead, focusing on direction and the future
Solid expansion plans in the face of aggressive competition keeps the customers coming back.
Whilst commissions aren't paid to salespeople, management tracks individual sales aggressively and pushes hard to improve results

Awesome company to work for. Timbs group far best retail store to work at.

I try to not make it stressful at all.

One team one dream, team work, your very looked after.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Full on but no two days a like

Collaborative Atmosphere. Management is approachable and cooperative. 

Job is challenging but genuine effort and individual performance is recognised and rewarded. Lots to learn & scope to advance for achievers.

Management expects results - but doesn't leave you alone to achieve it.
