You don’t get paid until you start driving buses which is three weeks in and you’re told training is paid (interesting) the pay is minimal for the work expected. You aren’t given good enough resources, no gps system, you’re expected to work from a piece of paper so if you go the wrong way whilst you’re learning there’s nothing to back you up. Unsafe to be working from a piece of paper when driving and constantly pushed to meet deadlines despite not providing drivers with adequate resources. They fat shame and you need to stay at a recommended weight or they’ll fire you. You don’t get paid for layover time which can be up to 6 hours just sitting stagnant at the bus depo waiting for your next shift. So sometimes you’ll be out of the house 12 hours of the day but potentially only get paid for 6-8. All routes you are expected to learn on your own time (again unpaid) and any overtime you work is accrued over 3 months and they will pay time in lieu rather than pay you properly for your hard work. They also make you sign a contract stating that if you leave or are terminated within 12 months of starting employment you will have to pay a debt of $2500 which they claim is for licensing and training costs. Perhaps if they provided a safe, inclusive work environment with fair pay employees would not have such a high turn over rate within the first 12 months of employment. It was incredibly stressful and I would not recommend to anyone who values their sanity and safety.

The Safety culture development and incorporation of Health and Safety into the Management as part of it is developing as a continuous process. There is a lot of scope and opportunity to be worked upon since Harmonisation Process of Legislation which is being worked on by me in terms of Gap Analysis, Standard Work Procedures, Business Management and Quality Assurance Systems with focus on Safety, Health Quality, Environmental Systems,Risk Assessment and Management.

Hardest part of the job is not enough time at disposal to have more interaction due to less time allocated (6 hours/day)

Best part is the flexibility to concentrate on and address the issues on priority basis.

I am a bus operator.
my day starts off looking over the runs for the day making sure i have enough tickets to get me through.  Check my allocated bus over make sure all is right for the days trips.
since being in the bus industry i have become there Health and safety rep. 
Management are really supportive to the workers needs. that goes from the GM down the line. My co workers are a great bunch of guys and girls. we all get on well. there are a few like any work place that don't but hey we need that.
The hardest part of my job would be the customers that push your buttons the wrong way. and traffic jams.
the part i like the most is the never ending views i get as my office changes all the time.

I won’t recommend anyone to work for this company. One of the most stressful jobs that you would ever get. Management has no professionalism and they treat you like third class citizens. Every time complaint comes , doesn’t matter it’s your fault or not, they will always try to convince you that you were wrong. There are lot of issues within the company but if you try to talk about them , they would then start harassing you. So at the end worst job ever.

We’re all friendly and willing to help our passengers.

Road works and trying to keep to schedule as close as possible.

Mixed culture and people are all friendly

Busy, but fulfilling. Always enjoyable

working in Trorrens Transit was deeming and rewarding when the conditions were made  the good team and management were always helpful to assist you with day-to-day management plus if problems arise with equipment a strong backup system was always there

Treat you terribly if you are overweight.  Don't care about their workers.  Workers work hard and don't get recognition.  They badger you about your weight and make you feel terrible about yourself.   They stand you down if you are overweight without pay.  Not worth working for.  Not many workers are happy there.  They will just employ more people and get rid of you.  Wouldn't even bother with them.

A tough job that has a salary that should be nationally reviewed. The company that i work for has split shifts and i believe this has not been taken into consideration with the salary especially considering there is no leave loading come your accrued holiday time.

I loved working amoung the people I had the chance to. I loved my manager and she taught me so much and more. It was like a little family and it was wonderful to work amoung the people I miss it to this day.

Provided with clean buses,regular working hours every week with different runs each week.Provided with a uniform and good facilities to relax in on split shifts.Not much chance to move up the management tree.
