The normal day starts with  wearing company's uniform as well as all the required PPE and following safe work practice. Before entering the area washing hands and sanitizing is the first main priorities followed by all the workers. All the workers from different department work collaboratively to meet the production demand. During work all the safety and GMP norms are followed by every individual on site. QC, OH&S inspections are been taken twice a day during each shift. 15-20 minutes, 2 breaks and lunch  are provied to each individual during working hours . Management works with production and other department to carry out orders, workplace safety, First-Aid, General product Inspection, Maintenance, operation permits and man-management. The challenging part of the job is to keep the operation running smoothly considering all the pros and cons of the process with zero accident policy. I love my job as it is multi-tasking and  needs lot of capability, Stamina, and concentration to conduct different parameters at same time to meet the production goals.

I was a machine operator in charge of allocating bread to its area.
I supervised the machine and its production time. My co workers were a great team as we all got along and worked very well together.
I enjoyed being at work and getting the job done. The reason why I left was because I opened a take-away business with my brother that did not go well so I have to find other employment. I was employed at TIP TOP Bakery for a period of almost 10 years and any of my managers or supervisors would give me a great reference as to the dedication and commitment of my work. Prior to TIP TOP employment I was employed by JENSON windows located at Five Dock for a period of 10 years. This company no longer operates due  to its closure but proof of employment is my group certificates which I can supply. My duties involved cutting of aluminium windows and assembling windows and glass. My duties also included installation of windows on job sites. I am an energetic and hard worker that always gets the job done and would love to be able to prove this to my next employer who will not be disappointed.

A day of interest along with general duties there was always unpredictable challenges,
Learned skills in manufacturing, maintenance in both electrical and mechanical and computer skills in an assortment of programs.
Management was always understanding helpful and had a strong commitment to the industry which provided an ongoing job satisfaction.
The culture was one of ,lest get the job done and done at a high  standard and quality.
The hardest part was having to leave due to redundancy.
Most enjoyable part was getting to work and meeting the other employees with a good attitude to which helped start and end the day and going home with a great sense of accomplishment

People that go to work expect to be appreciated for what they do.
Instead they get run down,lack of staff,production management don't care,always under pressure cause not enough workers,always give them feed back at meetings about what we need to make the staff safe and for the room to run smoothly but goes through one ear out the other.
They don't listen to what the worker's need instead they just keep coming up with excuses and watch their worker's struggle from the window up in the office.
Tip Top in slacks creek is not a good place to work for been their for few years and still they run their worker's down.


Small group of reliable staff working well together everyday to reach our daily goals.  The mixer would constantly check his product coming through the divider and always ask if there was any improvement that is needed through my experience with the muffins. I could always call for assistance and support from all members of our production line. We all got to know each other over time and worked well with who was supervising our positions.  We could ask for advice, work as a team to complete set tasks and continue working in our specified areas. I received training on everything I learnt promtly and with detail towards each new skill.

Maintaining bread line plant and machinery nights/days/weekends.

I have learned about the baking industry and process, as well as FMCG.

Managment are ok, however slightly disconnected from the people on the floor.

Culture at tip top is to try and engage the employees to succeed in creating 'everyday moments of goodness'

Hardest part of the job is doing night shift roster and being away from family on weekends

Most enjoyable part of the job is to see plant reliability to a high standard

I like the staff there, and the work is easy, but it's on call and you don't get alot of hours and the pay rate is low. It gets very hot in the warehouse, but they do have fans throughout and provide portable aircon. They provide Gatorade and ice blocks on the really hot days. They have a good luch room with aircon a TV and a coffee machine. Overall I enjoy working there, but would like more hours and maybe set days.

The friendly office staff will have the hand held computer to upload/download work required for the day: loading the truck then delivering to all customers on the list, return to the office and upload the delivery information. It's an interesting and challenging job as almost every day is different. It's exciting in dealing with many different point of view / personalities, attitudes of each customer upon delivery. It is an incredible opportunity that provided a new perspective on life in general.

Good place to work, taught to do other jobs around the factory on the slicing machines, on the back loading dock loading the truck’s, Making up loads for the vendor’s,

Your average day at tip top starts with getting up at four am, and doing your usual "Getting Ready For Work" routine. Then you drive on in, and sign in for a day of helping make bread. Good bread too.

You're greeted by pleasant characters all around, fantastic supervisors, co-workers, security guards, the whole nine yards. You go about your day making bread, and making sure the good bread is good. Then you pack it up and ship it off!

Never a dull moment, and all the people are fantastic.
