MonaVale  House is a part of Thomson Health Care. It is located in Sydney Northern Suburbs with 65 beds. My role was to sit up the resident from bed for breakfast in the morning. After breakfast is served help the resident to feed then who needs help. Assist them in showering. Recording all the incident in computers . I found the management  so good. All the staff and partners are so friendly and helpful. everybody works in a team. All employees are from different religion and culture but  are treated equally. There is no any discrimination. The hardest part of job is only when resident dies it really hurts otherwise I learnt how to handle people with different types of disabilities and challenging behaviour  by enjoying working with my co-workers as a team.

What is the best part of working at the company?
didnt exist... residents were best part but seeing them so unhappy there took that away too

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
dealing with management and seeing residents yelling out for help or crying and no staff seemed to care

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
not very nice!!!! If new owners or management took over could have so much potential 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
abbey house sucks the life out of staff and residents until they leave or die

The days working at the abbey were stressful and extremely difficult. Expected to do long hours constantly because of the understaffing. Management dismiss complaints like they are nothing. The atmosphere can be very toxic. They empty incompetent staff and will leave a floor heavily understaffed. One morning shift it was myself and another lady trying to get 38 residents up for the day. Luckily someone came in early making it 3;38. 

As above.  The hardest part of the job was time constraints and therefore not feeling fulfilled each day because there was simply not enough hours in the day to get all your work done. The residents themselves were the most enjoyable part of the job.  Nice and handy to Fredo Pie Shop too.

Mostly the residents and some of the staff 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constantly under staffed constantly under pressure and no support by management. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic and unhealthy no support 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Over worked under staffed excepted to stay back to do paperwork and not get paid

I used to work 6 days , 7 hours shift but management doesn't look after staff, I was physically abused by a resident and almost broke my hand they just pretend didn't happen and gave me a few days off non pay.
I've been looking for another job since.  

Dealing with management is dreadful. They are unhelpful and toxic. Showing lack of regard and care on a regular bases. Will suit needs of the company but not the staff. Ratio 3;35 staff to residents and when addressed, ‘can not put more staff on because overtime pay is too high. They are unorganised and lazy. Do not take complaints seriously and will easily dismiss and sweep concerns under the carpet. 

Cannot help to mention there are quite a lot of unqualified, unprofessional,irresponsible,lazy, impolite staffs who not really deserved a job, sad for the residents as not all the staffs is helpful. Nevertheless, it is a nice place to work in the residents are all friendly and lovely, hoping more reliable and hard-working people to join the team!

DON was a good manager. Some staff are rude to residents and other staff. Kitchen staff very ordinary attitude to other staff and nurses.
Chef and 2nd in charge tried to run the facility and were very hard to get along with.
Some neglected patients I witnessed while there.

The hardest part of the job is when you attached yourself to the person your taking care of and one day you'll know that the person that you really like has gone forever.
