This was a great company to work for as an apprentice (3rd/4th), had some really great job sites that we worked on doing large scale work. Safety was paramount on these large sites.
Unfortunately with as it is with a lot of larger companies the management was poor and caused some large blunders costing the company money.
As an apprentice to much expectation was placed on myself without the pay rate to match and with management getting walked out the door progressively I left, the branch I worked out of I heard closed down not long after.

pre-starts and safety reviews then work assignment for the day, high production target and safety are two opposing forces, numbers are a must but work safety had be present whilst at work. any work group that tries to over do each other workload is a competition that benefits a company mostly production wise, the hardest part of the job is when an individual or two is not present the work line is slow because everyone works more than one role in the process. i enjoy the fast phase of the job, the time passes without notice is what i enjoy about this job

A typical day includes entering of Purchase Orders, Site instructions, Accommodation forecasting, Weekly reporting for the client, Site Visitor Requests, Proof Reading of documents, filing, scanning, copying. I learned a lot in my role with T&C different ways to do day to day tasks. Co - workers are great, easy to get along with and work with. Hardest part was gathering information from superiors to meet deadlines. Enjoyment was working along side some great personnel and sub contractors

I was employed to replace the existing Project Manager, due to his internal promotion, on a $15m Australia Post [AP] Project, Sydney & Melbourne. Client not happy with this change and due to existing on-going T&C technical problems causing delays, AP forced T&C management to replace me, even though T&C management had not expressed their concerns with me.

I worked in the accounts department. The top management were ok but they looked after the supervisor only. If you have problems with the supervisor you can’t go to higher management. They expect you to work full time during the week and then weekends on top of that with no overtime paid. 
As a company they are good to work for. I believe I just had a bad supervisor.

I really liked working at Thomas & Coffey, my duties were different every time  I was called in. I worked under a qualified team leader and took direction off him. I was a call in casual, and at the end of the year work started to dry up. So I have since joined skilled labour hire, to obtain more work.

Productive and fair workplace.I worked 8 hour days and as a Boilermaker you are always learning from your fellow workers. The hardest part of Boilermaking is the heat and dust and dirt.But at the end of the day to get satisfaction out of doing a good job is well worth it.

Hope Thomas & Coffey offer me permanent full time employment in Townsville ASAP.

Was a pretty good place while I was there, had a good variety of work throughout the hunter valley mining industry. 
I think now though they have been taken over by a different company, but not sure who they are.

Always very busy.You have to impress the clients.The work was always hard because you are doing work that their people dont want to do.Your workmates are always there for you.A very loyal bunch of guys.
