The Home Depot

It is a productive and friendly working environment with the individuals i have worked with. The company is very safety oriented with customers and associates at large.As an associate at Home Depot INC, I have gained  tremendous amount of knowledge and training from management and my fellow associates with a year of being part of company.

Its a job and money but not much else other than the interesting people that work there.  local micro management and constant corporate propaganda, local market dominated by military and student population, local management dominated by ex-military and students just waiting for a job move/offer outside

Working at Ronnie’s Home Depot is good and their is nice but the boss I had, treated me like I was below the ocean. She yelled at me for helping a co-worker who was helping a customer and I got what she needed, then my boss yelled at me because I was interacting with another staff member?!

The Home Depot offers advancement, but to minorities first. As a manager I was even told to promote minorities over others. They also subscribe heavily to the "good 'ol boy" network if you want to succeed. It always seemed too easy for a change to happen based on a person's standing with upper management.

If you save money by hiring high school students that know basically nothing they it will tend to annoy customers.   I am an expert in many fields and often floated around helping customers.  The managment tended to go both ways. I had some I respected and some I did not.

The Home Depot was a really great place to work. You learn something new every day and I got to bond with a lot of customers. It wasn't easy selling the company credit cards but I enjoyed working with my fellow co workers and the managers always made sure we were good.

As far as retail management goes work/life balance is ok.  Culture is great and I love the company I work for.  Genuine leadership.  District staff, like most retail environments is subject to gossip and favoritism but most are great.

Managers and supervisors are helpful and nice! They are good at training if needed, but also alot of computer training. The garden was very busy in the summer but fun.
