ELC has many branches/divisions. My experience was in CCS. The business model was great! Then a change in management occurred, three key cornerstones left and the focus changed to sales not team building or training. The ELC counter employees received more training than CCS! More work was placed on SM and ASM without clear direction. Make sales to get incentives but only sell to the right kind of people (IYKYK). How confusing! The passion I had to help customers learn about makeup and find that right shade of lipstick was crushed by daily trackers, email capture quotas, shipment and over working due to short staffing. The lack of advancement opportunities did not help. I loved ELC but lost my love for CCS. 

Working for ELC was not much of a learning experience, unless it is about their products or company. To progress it is extremely difficult, as they only allow coworkers they know very well to do so. They also promote internally, especially within HR. The workplace can become political rather than a supportive environment, dependent on what manager you have. A typical day working for ELC can involve using customer service skills, listening skills and sales skills mainly. The most enjoyable part of the job is the team and some of the opportunities that can arise, if you seize them. Lastly, the hardest part of the job is the stress from having little support from ELC, or when you do get the support it will not come until a prolonged time later. 

A typical day at work would be attending to clients requirements that is advising on skincare application and general care.
What I have learned is friendly communication is the key.
Management in all levels to ensure the smooth running of a busy counter achieving set targets.
A happy workplace is paramount ensuring all staff are operating to the best of their ability.

The hardest part of the job ensuring stock levels are at their optimum levels where you have no control over ordering.

The most enjoyable part is having constant return business.

Working within a team of 4 of the Estee Lauder counter in Debenhams, Ipswich.  My main duties included merchandising the counter, attending training sessions at Head Office, motivation of my fellow team members, acting as Account Manager in her absence, awareness of personal productivity, completion of weekly sales figures, monthly sales figures and sales reports, communicating with my Account Manager to ensure the smooth running of the business.

Once again I always made sure that my client service was of the highest standard.

I worked as a beauty advisor Estee Lauder for just over a year. Here, I had the responsibility of achieving daily, weekly and monthly targets along with the three other ladies on my team. The store was always busy especially during peak seasons. It was necessary to up sell and cross sell with customers and have a good knowledge on our skin care, makeup products and fragrances. I would consider myself to have a well-rounded knowledge of all the products after this year and given the numerous training days I attended

The company offers continuous incentives for targets met. Support and product knowledge is accessible via company training portal.  Uniform and allowances are provided to present a professional image of the company.  Presentation and conduct are to be in accordance with company expectations as set out in the employee guidelines.

All round, I absolutely loved working for Estee lauder, it is one of my biggest regrets, Choosing to leave this wonderful company. It is a fashion forward brand that is well advance in technology, Fabulous update training & fun to work for. Fab customers, And I had the utmost respect for my area manager....WONDERFUL! 

I did enjoy working for this company and perks are great however because of covid the company had to downsize a lot of head office staff which put pressure on us retail managers. Working every weekend can be hard on work life balance.

The pay is atrocious for what is expected of you.

I really lovely job and the people I worked with and they treated me so very kind and caring. The position so many beautiful helpful people that kindly in a positive kind way helped me so very much 😊 ❤️
