Working overseas as a volunteer in the Naga Philippines Mission was the best learning experience. Every day, I faced different people with different personalities and attitudes. It was such an honor to serve them and help them in any way I could. I witnessed so many things from working with homeless people and broken families to rich people and even with the mayor of some areas in how we can help the people in the community.

Everything I have learned throughout my 18 months working in the Philippines, I have applied in every job I have had since being home. I learned about what it takes to lead your group. The importance of teamwork and that listening is one of the most important factors in helping the work grow and flow well.

I enjoyed every single day working with my team and with those we helped and served. It wasn't always easy. I faced a lot being out there and seeing some of the things that happened that I would have never seen here in Australia, but I also learned that if it can be helped then help but also that the work must go on. I loved it.

Working within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is voluntary.  It is a comfortable environment and the leaders are very supportive.  It is family orientated and works around encouraging and installing values and attributes to all ages.  The title for our job is a calling.  I enjoyed my calling as I worked within the youth programme that encourages young women of the ages of 12-17 to prepare themselves in confidence within themselves and out in the world.  I enjoyed planning activities that was a variety of sports, homemaking, job preparations, inviting outside support workers such as those in the community that encouraged female support in all areas.  My calling also enhanced my skills within the secretarial sector and helped me be organised and prepared.

Being a missionary was a great opportunity to learn and to grow, mentally and emotionally. Days at work consisted of exercise and study every morning then sales pitches and teaching appointments with occasional training meetings and community service opportunities. It was great working with others around the same age as myself and developing skills together. It was sometimes a challenge being professional and patient with those who were antagonistic to our cause and being assigned to the same working partner for sometimes months at a time but it was an incredibly enjoyable experience where I was able to learn skills in leadership, time management, perseverance and many others.

It was a good experience, we learned how to plan and to work in a team how to interact and communicate with people on the streets by knocking doors. 
learned how to study and how to apply to teach people.
I learned how to be proactive in decision making and helping meeting the needs of different people by working together as a team!
I was given the opportunity to be a leader trainer I looked after 12 women training them and helping them achieve a standard of excellence helping train them in the work!
Most enjoyable part of the job is working with people and helping other meets there request learning things about people and working together in unity.

As a voluntary full-time missionary for the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I loved serving others and sharing with families and individuals from all sorts of backgrounds and culture about the Plan of Salvation and Family Unit and Eternal Happiness. I loved meeting new people and working with the New South Wales people. I was very fortunate to serve in various part of Sydney in Canberra and represent my faith and family to help others in need and to teach children and families and teenagers, young single adults and Pioneers of this life,

Being a missionary serving in Australia Brisbane was probably one of the best experiences I had in my life and serving the Lord. Pretty far from the glamorous office work I used to do in the Philippines but paved way to increase my sensitivity to my surroundings and how people lived and the way they chose to live. Its not just more on religious but also helping you find yourself and what you really want to do in life. It wasn't a paid clergy work since we all came as volunteers but the things I have learned and how my perspective grew on things changed in a whole lot of different ways.

Its an awesome church voluntary work, 24/7. I learnt how to become confident in talking face to face with people and being open with everyone and anyone.Learnt how to be reliable, responsible, working as a team etc. I have come out of my comfort zone in talking with people. Setting appointments, being on time to meetings and services, hard working, rain or shine. The best 18 months of my life. Out and doing, giving service to others and meeting their concerns and needs. Meeting people and feeling like you have known them all your life. The best.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and punctual most of the time depending on the schedule

It was an opportunity given to me by the church to share teach and share doctrines approved by church leaders to help with youth ages 14 - 18 day each of their day spiritual. It helped alot of youth in the church as well as the community learn and understand the Scriptures. It assist them as well with their mission preparation for the young men aged 19 and the young women aged 21 if they decided to participate by going on a full time mission for the church.

BEing a missionary is out of the ordinary. 18months oversead as a missionary I was able to teach the gospel Monday-Sunday. meeting new people and knowing them on a personal level trying to resolve there issues and individuals and families teaching them about jesus Christ was the greatest joy I felt among the Filipino people.
Gaining experience in speaking several different dialects has helped me here because I get to use that and interact with people here.
