I enjoyed working at Teys Bros as it was a secure full time job and paid very well. A typical day at work would be working from 5.00am - 4.00pm, for 4 days a week (week days). I would do the same job most of the time which would be cutting up the beef primals. There would be other days where I would be sent to diiferent sections of the factory doing jobs such as labouring, packing, helping others, and checking for defects.
I learnt alot about the abbatoirs, and the process of how animals get from the farm, to the supermarkets, butchers, shops etc. I learnt how to be a hard worker, turning up to work everyday, having no sick days, and learnt to be reliable. I learnt how to work as a team, but also how to work on my own. I learnt all about beef, the different cuts, and how to keep my gear clean, and have nice sharp knieves to do the job well. I learnt that communication is very important in the work place.
Management was nice and very strict. Their main focus was to get as much beef done as possible. At the end of each year, the company would have a christmas BBQ lunch for all the employees.
My co-workers were very nice, and we all worked together to get the job done.
The hardest part of the job would be working in an environment full of men, as not very much women worked in my section as a slicer cutting up primals (maybe 3 girls working amongst 30 men).
The most enjoyable part of working for Teys Bros was learning new things, and trying to progress higher in the company and getting qualifications.

A typical day at work would consist of our team of 30+ starting off the night in the kill floor when they finished slaughtering we would come along and scrub down all stainless steel with scourers and chemical whilst a few members would come along with high and hot water pressure hoses and clean up all the blood and other unwanted parts off the equipment and floor. we would continue this routine through the whole plant with a few extra things to do depending on what area you were located for the night. the co-workers were amazing very helpful, friendly and understanding the most enjoyable part of the job i had enjoyed whilst i was there was making new friends who till this day i still talk to and learning about what happens with the meat we buy from the supermarket. it was an amazing experience and would love to keep doing it but it's all the way in Queensland and i have moved back home west the hardest part of the job was whenever we had more than a few of our staff sick because we were on a time frame every night and everyone had to help out a little extra because we had the same standard each ad every night.

Most enjoyable part of my job was coming to work and cleaning pens, loading because 1. I was very good at it, 2. I really love operating a front end wheel loader and aim to achieve my very best everytime I'm giving a task and it makes me happy to look at my work once its complete and be proud to say I did that. 

 Overall teys feedlot Charlton is a wonderful place to work, management work very hard to assist and looking after there employees, there a fair & strict coded company, and take pride and honor in anything they do. And follow there career goal values set out by the CEO. 

Culture of the company is a nice welcoming placing for anyone that steps foot in the doors everyone works close as a team to help each other instead of make this more difficult. 

And also offer a great range of opportunities to take on for the benefit of the future business and also to better your own personal skills.

Pay rate is exceptionally low especially factoring in the work environment and that all major responsibilities fall on the day shift work. Getting paid less even though the day shift is doing the most work. 
Would not recommend the agency - FIPG you go through. 
They had sugarcoated the position at the interview however had not explained thoroughly of the major difficulties. 
High turnaround of staff. Employees leaving constantly. 
Poor and disrespectful treatment of staff especially of different backgrounds. 
They expect you to pay for your own medical assessment at the interview even if you do not pass through the interview stage. 
Explain that weekend work is optional at the interview however once starting they expect you to work every Saturday.
Process of FIPG is unprofessional. They make you start before signing and when you question the contract, they just say, oh yeah sorry, it hasnt been updated but we still expect you to sign it.

If your a hard worker expect to be stuck in the same job.
The company struggles to staff all positions so expect to work harder a few days a week without thanks if your a good worker.
I have worked in a lot of industries and have found this to be the worst ever due to work location, every time I try to advance or move to another area I am dragged back to my old position because no one else seems to be able to fulfil the roll.
There is no work life balance.
OHS is as required until someone gets hurt then it becomes an issue.
Management will promise everything to retain employees but after 7 broken promises I can safely say this is Teys best practices management system at its best.
They demand loyalty only so that external auditors don't focus on the companies many issues. 
Expect to work overtime most days due to maintenance issues that slow or stop production

Typical day - they will start before your actual start time upto 15 minutes early (unpaid) , Run the chains at extremely high speed for the manning they have . All the 457's will get behind , the supervisors will force everyone to catch them up with them being on the same rate of pay, Get to the end of the day and the workload they have set out is to much and have to do overtime which is pretty much forced on you and if u say no you get sent to HR .

Management - doesn't care if good workers leave as they say were all just numbers (been told that several times ) . Supervisors have no people skills and will swear and treat you like garbage . 

The job is extremely hard to master and i would not recommend this place to my worst enemy . there are easier jobs out there that pay the same and you will hate every single day there if you join 

Although the short time I worked at Teys Australia based in Beenleigh, it was one of the best experiences I had. The supervisors and the workers were always looking out for me and making sure I stretch my hands. Stretching is a major "Must-do" if you want to work here, things can get tough if you don't stretch. But if you don't decide to stretch or "Forget", you can count on the nurse to help you with your pain. This is also a place that does not put up with bullying in any way what so ever. They respect the employees of the workplace and the work they do. Overall a great place to work and would recommend this as a workplace to anyone who loves working in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with a great bunch of people,

Day shift, night shift and overnight shifts. Good pay. The work is very repetitive, but supervisors will generally (my supervisor normally asked if i wanted to do something else) rotate you around so you don't get bored.
8 hour shifts, day and night shifts are normal working production shifts, while overnight shifts are cleaning shifts. 
Managers will keep notes on what shift you want to do and if available will offer them to you.
co-workers are friendly, didn't run into any problems with people while working there.
Managers are very forgiving but there are also limits to how forgiving they are.

Although my experience as a Labour Coordinator/Interpreter at Teys was sometimes a very challenging one I found my time there very joyous, memorable and satisfying. I felt valued as an employee and found middle and top management to be very open and welcoming to criticism, feedback and suggestions and also very open to try your new ideas. Overall I was treated as a valued member of the Teys work family and would return anytime given an opportunity except not in Biloela because of the distance and isolation from family.

Managers are extremely rude and it’s their way or the highway. You’re expected to move regional working 12 hours a day with no uplift or compensation for additional hours worked. They will retract on promises they make and accuse you for not wanting to move. Additionally you’re expected to work in extremely harsh conditions (blood, gore, paunch and animal excretions is something you experience every hour of the working day) with no compensation for it. Senior management will frown upon you if you have difficulty adjusting.
