Terry White Chemist

A typical day at work would consist of pulling forward, vacuuming, putting out stock, answering telephone enquiries/ transferring calls, operating the checkout, creating item tickets/signs, putting them out in the store, helping customers find a product and assisting the pharmacist in taking/dispensing scripts. 
I was surrounded by a supportive and friendly team, due to this being my first professional job I learned a lot about customer service and operating the checkout system, as well as the right manners to answer telephone calls. I enjoyed times where customers have been very friendly and getting along with my co-workers. The most difficult part of the job would be when customers are in a rush/ impatient or having a bad day and take it out on you as a worker, or get frustrated when you lack knowledge about certain things.However I learned not to take things personally and to always treat them in the same professional and patient manner and help them the best I can.

I worked at Terry White Chemist for a week as part of the mandatory Work Experience at school. While I was there, I stocked shelves, worked at the cash register and took patients scripts in and added it into the computer system. These are all three skills I was taught at Terry White Chemists. The hardest part of the job was trying to memorize where everything in the store was situated in order to help customers to find what they were looking for in only one week. I enjoyed taking scripts in the most as it is something i have never done before, so it was quite exciting.

A typical day at work would consist of stocking up shelves and working behind te cash register. I would also occasionally help handling prescriptions and cleaning. I learnt how to communicate with customers and what questions to ask in regards to what they are feelings and, in turn, be able to find the most appropriate medication for them. All employees got along really well, and we all helped each other when needed. The hardest part of the job was working from early morning to late afternoons. The most enjoyable part was the work environment that I was in.

the pay isn't the best and have asked for a pay rise and haven't got one

get to work clock in grab deliveries deliver them to the people go back to work cut boxes and put them in the bin.

Working for Terry White, i gained many useful skills & knowledge needed in the retail and customer service industry. Thoroughly enjoyed working  as a team member.

Although I say this is not the best place to work for, I am not meaning all Terry White's. Just the one in Armidale NSW. The management are very unfair and and if you don't get along with them, they make working their an absolute nightmare. The owner is also quite harsh and she pays you the very bare minimum that she can legally get away with.

I have really enjoyed my time with Terry White Chemists. This was my favourite job!!!!

Terry White showed a comfortable working environment allowing me to learn something new every day.

Was repeatedly lied to by management in regards to my pay and why I hadn't been paid. Had to walk out and refuse to work in order to get paid and then asked to submit an apology to the person who threatened and insulted me over the matter.

Never given anything to do. Wasn’t trained right. My job included standing there and greeting customers for hours on end and nothing else. I continuously asked for other task but never given them.
