Long hours no overtime too physical no advancement unless you crawl to management poor pay for what you do if the slightest thing goes wrong u never hear the end of it! Management never replaces staff when leaving or transferring driving vehicles that are hardly roadworthy they also make a big issue on safety but if work cover came in they would close the place also they have no union representative present which would be good ! There is no rostered day off once a month whereby my previous positions had one ! The despatch team are so unorganized that deliveries are getting to customers late and the orders are incorrectly picked and packed!  Must include going distant wise out of the area when sister stores 5min away can do the deliveries! Lack of staff and being pushed beyond your means result's in costly mistakes and unhappy customers!!!! So anyone thinking of joining this company beware!!!!!!!! Do you ground work first there a other companies heap's better to work for out there this was personally one of the worst I've ever worked for so if you want to some stress high blood pressure come home sore everyday being paid the minimum wage then go for it!!!!! Best thing i  ever did was resign wish some of my former colleagues would do the same and see the light as well! The fletcher building company who owns them CEO is on2.5million per year he's the only one better off in this circus!

My current duties include Stock receiving, counter/phone sales, customer quotes, technical support, inventory reports, stock relay and management, deliveries, monthly stock take, daily cash reconciliation and banking, credit/return orders, supplier liaison etc...
In my time at Tradelink I have learned how to prioritize a multitude of tasks to ensure both customer and business requirements are meet with satisfaction. 
There have been a lot of staff come and go at Tradelink but all have been great to work with and we always have time for a laugh and joke between ourselves while getting the job done. I still keep in touch with many former staff members. 
The hardest part of my job is the sometimes unrealistic demands of both retail and trade customers but understand that we all have our own pressures in life and career. I still do my best to meet these demands even if it is not appreciated by the customer. 
The greatest part of my job is the satisfaction that I can go home knowing I have done a great job and helped out some people who required our service. My current fellow staff members are a great group of people to work with a great TEAM!

I started in the South Melbourne store and quickly learned the products, store and safety procedures and getting around the CBD.  I enjoyed learning how to get around the CBD, meeting and making connections at the various commercial job sites.

I transferred to the Narre Warren store which has a more domestic/residential construction focus.  I enjoyed the opportunity to grow in my knowledge of the product range, display my customer service sales abilities while using my experience.

I love learning new things, using what I have learned and provide the solutions to resolve issues.

Duties at both stores included:

•	Counter sales and customer service
•	Inward goods receipting
•	Inventory Control, order stock and custom orders, stocktakes and cycle counts
•	Deliveries to customers on site in the CBD and suburbs, including SE Suburbs for the Narre Warren store.
•	Pick up and transfer orders from other stores and suppliers
•	Reconciliation of cash drawer

a typical day at work would include picking and packing orders for customers, inventory control including goods receiving/receipting,regular cycle counting etc. delivering goods to building sites and private dwellings throughout the Goulburn Valley region and surrounds.
Co-workers are generally friendly and easy to get along with.

The hardest part of the job is understanding the JDE database system, but once this is mastered with ongoing use, it becomes easier.

The most enjoyable part of the job would be deliveries, as you are out and about, meeting and interacting with people, and you get to see the countryside as well.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The challenge of a new project and building a new team that ultimately succeeded in the task that was given. Built from the bottom up

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of communication from our key management 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Had a terrific team but at times departments worked in silos. Really big on communication. We have to grow as one. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I like being busy and this job did deliver. Every day was different and provided a new challenge.

Worked at Tradelink for 5 years in the Maitland area. Loved worked with colleagues. Senior management we’re useless, so under staffed, low wages, always on your back to get more done. So much overtime and never got paid or even a thank you.
Managers got railroaded by senior management and no wonder so many managers left. Was offered the position but always said no. Enterprise Agreement back in 2019 was the biggest 💩 sandwich I have ever heard of that Tradelink offered their staff. Area manager was the best back stabbing individual I have ever come across.

Who knows if my job will even exist a week, a month or a year. There is a lot of uncertainty for the future and the performance of the company is causing low morale among good staff members.
The staff are great and will do almost anything to help the business do well, however senior management is clueless at running a big under performing business.

I would like the opportunity to work in the trade plumbing industry taking special care with excellent customer service 
I have over 30 years plumbing knowledge experience in which will be a benefit when serving plumbing trade and builder customers 
I am reliable honest sincere and willing to make a difference to the business to ensure we have edge over our competitors

A very fast paced business in a demanding industry.  I learned how to multitask in this business as customers entering the store needed to be attended to in a timely manner to ensure their time was not wasted.  The Building industry specifically the plumbing sector is a tight knit community and the enjoyment of gaining new friends through the business made the day fly by.

When the new Management came into Tradelink everything changed, making us work more hours for no more money, all the training that was promised never happened because it was not in there budget, took away bonuses but they kept these and told us in an office meeting.
