Flexible working arrangement depending on manager however trade off is long work hours required with very little genuine appreciation.
The company is more focused on short-term profits than on genuinely supporting its employees, which has led to a high turnover rate and declining morale. Instead of addressing the root causes, leadership often shifts the blame onto staff. Some managers use subtle, yet harmful, tactics that make employees question their own performance, leading to pressure to resign. The work culture has become increasingly toxic, compounded by frequent restructuring and layoffs. Although HR may seem supportive, they appear more interested in protecting the company’s interests than in truly helping employees, which is disheartening, especially since some HR staff seem compelled to compromise their integrity.

Company politics, or workplace politics, refer to the dynamics of influence, power, and relationships within an organization. When navigated well, company politics can benefit employees by increasing visibility, offering networking opportunities, and facilitating career advancement. It allows individuals to advocate for their ideas, build alliances, and make an impact on decisions.

However, company politics can also have drawbacks. It may foster a competitive atmosphere that leads to conflicts, favoritism, and bias, impacting team morale and collaboration. Employees may feel pressured to engage in political behavior, which can lead to stress and detract from job satisfaction.

To navigate company politics effectively, it’s essential to stay professional, build genuine relationships, and align personal goals with organizational values. By focusing on transparent, fair decision-making and maintaining integrity, employees can minimize the negative impacts of politics and create a healthier, more productive work environment.

From my experience, TPG Telecom is a high-pressure, unstable workplace with frequent restructures and poor leadership accountability. While it promotes diversity and employee well-being, decisions often don’t align with these values.

HR seemed to prioritize management over employees, and concerns rarely led to real change. Some staff appeared to face undue pressure to leave rather than being formally let go, which raised concerns.

Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this company to those seeking job security and a supportive culture.

Workplace culture not ideal unless a natural workaholic who thrives on lacking balance. HR seems to not be out to protect staff if they are not beyond a certain level on the ladder. Toxic leaders who take credit for other’s work also seemed to thrive in many instances noticed and blame often shifted to juniors or others teams at times based on culture. Would not recommend if the potential applicant valued their mental health.

Okay place to work, KPI’s were a bit dumb. If someone was sick and off work for like a week+ KPI would fall onto everyone else.
Pay was good once weekend penalty rates kicked in (only this year shocked).
Staff at the store I was at were super competitive. Made the vibe of working there to try and be the same which was annoying/unnecessary. A job is to go to work, get paid, go home. It is not nor should it be your life in the sense to “sell heaps of home internets” etc

I worked for the Internode brand for 11 years.

In that time I saw the quality of the entire company plummet.

Management only care about the bottom line.

Middle management is nepotistic and untrained.

Pay is very poor, expectations are very high.

Constantly off shoring jobs to untrained and incompetent staff.

Working at TPG Telecom has some challenges but plus and minus everywhere. Some areas are better than others but the most frustrating thing is the lack of strategic direction at times leading to confusion and stagnation. 

Work-life balance is generally good, with flexible working arrangements and an understanding approach to personal commitments.

It was different environment from what i was used to since it was my first time working however the staff were great as they didnt pressure me into working fast and efficiently they eased in the work load putting more slowly as i got used to working.

Poor Management
No training
No customer focus
Sweat shop is an apt description, everybody is overworked
Large company run like a small family business, no documented processes and procedures, very amature

Look elsewhere, management are toxic and swoop a lot of band behaviour under the rug. There is a boys club here, if you are not a part of it then you don't exist. No career path progression even if you are a top performer, they look a what is the most beneficial for the club rather what you want to do.
