The nature of the Support Worker roles are such that the employee can feel 'at a loose end' - despite the organization trying all sorts of ways to engage with these essential staff.

As an office based worker, I joined on a 3-month contract and am still here 2 years later.
I love EVERY minute of it and sometimes can't wait to get into the office on a Monday morning.

There have been significant changes in management during this time and systems/processes are constantly evolving for the better.

Too demanding mentally & physically.
Not enough time to travel between clients.
Some clients were wanting too much to be done in a small time frame.
Online training was annoying as the training was mainly for actual Support Workers & not for DA’s.
Was annoying driving all over the place & getting lost.
Most enjoyable part was getting to know the clients.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The support from the team leaders is phenomenal. You are listened to, heard and very much supported

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing really. If you have a problem you let your team coordinator know and it gets fixed

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The company is very supportive and friendly. They go over and above to make sure you are happy in your role. There are opportunities for advancement

Terrible company to work for. Arrogant greedy top heavy management who have no regard or respect for the support workers who represent them.
I would only recommend to someone new to the industry looking for experience as they will take anyone.
Keep an eye on your payslips because you'll be underpaid on almost every one of them and have to fight to get it corrected. Hideous on every level. 

I will just say BEWARE
The pace is quite reasonable with some beautiful clients, however you will start your job 35 kms from home and finish 80 kms from home in the opposite direction. From leaving home to getting home will be 11 hrs if you want to get 7.5 hrs pay. 

After several years of the business being there for the clients/carers and their needs, the new management refocused the business to "more value for money" and took most of the services at a local level and refocused them to run out of the head office in Maroochydore.  Suddenly it became more hierarchy and big salaries and less peons and services.

This place has unreasonable request and odd working times and you pay for most of the fuel, when really the company should be paying for all the fuel. Unreasonable hours of work, like 3 hours here, 3 hours there on the same day sometimes. Management is not very nice to talk with.

Friendly staffs and good customer's .
Did alot of training with suncare and have learned about other ways to approach customers 
Driving to and from diffrent customer can take up most of your day.


Outside of management roles, you hold little to no value to the company.  
Expectations to go over and above in terms of work completed for no compensation or acknowledgment. 
Poor work culture and blaming culture apparent when issues arise

Fast paced, lots of domestic tasks, very little respite shifts. Not enough time to travel between clients makes it stressful. Long hours and lots of travelling.
