The staff at SummitCare are truly the beating heart of this haven. Each caregiver, from the nurses to the aides to the activities coordinators, approaches their work with a level of compassion and dedication that is truly inspiring. I enjoy my role and love working at SummitCare, it definitely has the personal vibe to it because it is a small company.

I have worked for SummitCare for almost ten years. I have worked with some amazing AINs EENs and RNs and General Service Officers in that time.  The management or 'local leadership team' as they like to call themselves are truly awful.  They promise opportunity to progress but do not deliver.  They have high turnover rates of managers who don't listen to the staff when they want to try a strategy that failed in the past without variation.  Whenever they need to save money they start with the lowliest of the staff even though the organisation is top heavy, and are forever taking away from the residents whilst stating they have their best interests at heart.  Its become a club where if you're not related to or best friends with leadership you have no opportunities. 

Hard work catering for residents. They gave us so much work that you had too come 30min early just to finish the work and no you would not get paid for it. Sometimes if you finished at 7 and 1 person on the 3 person team didnt show up, you were expected to finish at 8pm with the other person and only get paid a half hour extra instead of the full hour, why? Because they expected you to take a 30min break, which is a joke because you had to work that full hour.

Managers made stupid decisions that effected kitchen staff, slowed us down just for aesthetic reasons and not practically reasons. 

One time the tap broke and made a cheap replacement and it was a major safety hazard and they left it until someone threatened them with OH&S laws and company policy.

Summit Care at Randwick stressful workplace, Facility Manager intimidiating staff, family and residents So bad, disgusting Management I can prove it still have evident to show the public. Staff room to small unhygienic, Locker, toilet inside most of the time very strong smell from staff shoes and laundry just next room and the morgue as well. Un pleasant to work. The only I love to work at summit because of residents and family. Break my heart to see suffering. This is true story what I see and that what I feel to say. I left the work place because the Management  behaviour, He can't solve the problem, unprofessional manner.

Summit Care is a good organisation to work with. but they have bad management team.
They treat staff unfairly and create toxic environment.
The owner is not aware of the bad politics, treatment of staff and favouritism.
There's is no diversity in the workplace.

The enjoyable part of the job was to see the residents happy and appreciative of the service.

the hardest part of the job is when management starts micromanaging staff and threaten them with dismissal. You can't work under such conditions.


Been at summitcare for a while now, for me they have been welcoming, very supportive and I have been given opportunities that have helped me up skill in my position. the residents are treated like family. After working at other facilities I am happy to stay where I am. It’s a diverse staffing team from all walks of life they bring many skills to facility. The facility itself is modern, beautiful atmosphere and beautiful gardens. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Staff and the General manager of Baulkham hills Summit Care , are  amazing.

I have been working for SummitCare for over 10 years now and do not plan on going anywhere! SummitCare has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. It is deeply committed to quality care and patient safety, ensuring that our residents receive the best possible service. There’s a strong sense of teamwork here, with staff collaborating across departments to create a positive and supportive environment for both residents and employees.


A typical day at work included action immediately where one would be buddied up to man up to 15 residents to get them showered, dressed and presentable for breakfast. The day included constant monitoring of all residents and helping them attend their meals. 
The hardest part of the job was time management with the amount of residents we were over but it was always fun to succedd with your partner in providing the best care for the residents.

ratio staff to client is ridiculous ,
 no time for lunch breaks,
 managment have no rapport with staff, and  no support .
 No time to spend with clients as the work load is heavy
Overall the best part of working  was coming in and seeing  the residents smile and laugh that is what was rewarding.
