Some days I had 10 hours of tasks to complete and did not take into account toilet breaks or lunch, you have to factor these in yourself and usually done going from one store to the next. Some days I had to carry the workload over to the next as the times you have to get the tasks completed in were rarely realistic, so you are under pressure, particularly with planograms. Planograms are very physically demanding and I wasn't getting toilet breaks when I should or drinking enough fluids and found this very unhealthy as you were mostly on your own and could have a cage fully of food from the freezer which you can't leave out for too long. Planograms involve emptying shelves, often moving shelves to a different position and then restocking them with the new layout. If you are not careful you can hurt yourself easily. I was often going to stores well out of my designated "territory" and that continued to widen and the number of stores I visited increasing continually. All online training you do in your own time and is not paid work. Each supermarket and dept store has their own induction you have to do online and each could take 1-2 hrs each plus Strikeforce have their own, so expect an unpaid days work before you begin just to work through all the inductions etc. Training with someone was only for 2 weeks and I was on my own. There are so many different tasks to do and not all the same. I was constantly needing help & advise from my trainer, supervisor or Strikeforce and struggled to get hold of them straight away or they returned my calls hours later! In all it was very frustrating work. Training provided is poor so expect to be confused regularly. My trainer tended to flick through tasks quickly without explaining the nitty gritty, so once on my own I got confused quickly. Merchandising jobs I could have 9 displays to erect, stock and price labels printed and displayed in a day and they often only allowed 25-40mins to complete each display. May sound like a lot of time but some of the displays can take 20mins just to make them up and display. Some store staff can be quite rude and unhelpful, and are probably used to a high turnover of merchandisers. When I resigned Strikeforce didn't seem to care and my supervisor didn't even talk to me about it to find out why or even try to resolve the grievances I was experiencing!

Before I write this, I’ll start with one of my life motos. “Your mileage may vary”. It applies with work pretty well.  Everyone’s experiences, working for a company, or doing a certain thing for a living will be different to the next person. 

I have been working for strikeforce for three months now, after being out of the workforce for over 10 years due to parenting, I was grateful to be given a chance. This job was incredibly appealing to me. Flexible hours, you get a rage of tasks to do, and you can do them as long as the store is open any time between 6-6. Not working in the one place doing the same thing 24/7

Like all jobs, there’s negatives. Work slows down at the busiest time of year. 

The amount of hours you get could be better some weeks. You can also lose hours if the thing you need to do can’t be done for any reason. Which can sting. 

No chance to go from casual to full or part time. 

That’s it for me. They’re my only negatives. 
(Well except a personal grumble but it’s not with strikeforce it’s QR codes)
But there’s more positives. 

I’m in southern Tasmania and the two people who trained me are awesome., I still text them time to time if I don’t understand something or if I need an opinion. My work colleagues are pretty amazing, I don’t work with them often but when I do, it makes the day go faster. 

My manager has been really supportive, one for giving me a chance. She always gets back to me within 30 minutes which considering she’s as supervisor for multiple people is pretty quick. She’s been supportive of the days I have had to take off, due to kids, and she’s been supportive of my desire for more hours, giving me as much as she can when some pops up. 

The job its self is enjoyable for me. I love travelling, doing different things every day, working with stores to help set up displays and things. 

I could see myself doing this until my kids are the age I can work full time. Even then the only reason I would stop is because I can’t go full time with this role, but I will be keeping my eyes open for a role with the same company that does have full time hours. 



Hired via Website and online recruitment process. Supplied with iPad Mini or tablet for work and reporting. Typical day involves orders and tasks for around 12 to 16 clients a day, some take 5 to 10 minutes, some up to 2 hours. I work only in Bunnings stores. We have another division that looks after the Grocery Industry. I have a State Manager I report too, and he is always helpful and supportive. Never met any other Management. I do get occasional group letters/emails from the 'higher ups' but my State Manager is my main point of contact. A weekly newsletter is published and available on the iPad. Work is downloaded each day on the iPad also, and reporting consists of answering questions as you go and taking and forwarding photo's of displays and work done etc. Generally pleasant enjoyable work days. I only work 2.5 days a week by choice.

Great job as far as the actual day to day work is concerned.  Lots of variety and autonomy to work independently and complete merchandising tasks in supermarkets with some flexibility in terms of shift times.  The hardest thing was the unpredictable nature of the work load and how the work is scheduled and rostered.  Lots of changes at short notice and communication is terrible.  Field staff aren't well supported and there is hardly any training or support given when you need help.

If your sales rep has good life and you would too. If your sales reps change so often because of toxic working environments (reference to CCA’s employee reviews), expected the double blow off from CCA and your agent. You are just a number, the sales rep is replaceable so is you. If anyone out there in Sydney cbd area or 10 km closed by be able to work for longer than 2 years as a casual merchandiser and has the ambition to progress in career, I really need to learn from you.

Great to work with different customers and company's while there
Build great bonds with the clients of large chain companies and their staff. 
Really enjoyed having just one or 2 stores that you were regular at not 20 different ones give you a chance to build a great rapport with the staff and managers.

Co-workers are helpful efficient and a pleasure to work with. Management communicated clearly what was required and were helpful when a problem arose.I found the job very enjoyable and cannot find any negatives about my experience with this company .

This role is very independent. You go  in, do your thing, build the odd display, and leave.
Hours can vary week to week, depending on how much work there is to do. Currently I’m working one day a week, so my hours might be seven hours one week, and only three the next.
Management are very supportive. Supervisor is willing to help with whatever I need, as I’m relatively new to the role.

Pays were stuffed up, wrong account numbers were entered, (dumb). Other employees were rude and extremely disrespectful. Terrible communication by management. Terrible organisational skills by management. Left hand did not talk to the right hand. Not many shifts. I met 7 other employees of company, only one of them was a decent human being. Easy job. Pay good, much like any retail job. Would not recommend working for.
