Meeting and greeting students everyday
Building relationships of trust with students.
Managing workload and individual support programmes with students.
Marking and resulting paperwork with accuracy.
Identifying student skills and implementing development programmes for individual students.  Offering after hour training and support.  Personal interviews with students to gauge additional materials to strengthen their ability to communicate effectively with peers and reach their goals in a 'real' workplace scenario.

Challenges of the workload is to meet deadlines successfully. Gathering all the required ID to meet government funding requirements.  Students not returning to complete the course and their ability to be competent and deemed satisfactory through written verbal and observation.

However when each student passes there is personal satisfaction that they have risen to the occasion and made the necessary changes to a achieve successful outcome.

Yeah, that header sound's a bit rich, but really, they're good. I've been a trainer and assessor since 1981 and an auditor/consultant since 1996 so I have the background to know a good RTO that walks the talk rather than flicks n ticks. I have also trained trainers since 1986, have a Degree in Training and Development along with post-grad studies in business administration.

Strategix are good to work for, have great systems that back compliance and make an assessors job as easy as possible to get, and the pay? Well, it's fine by me. Pretty good really. Sure, I took a pay cut in joining with Strategix - my going rate as a consultant prior to that was $135 an hour - but frankly, their pay is quite enough and I was happy to trade contract work for the security of employment in a firm with goodsupport and a thriving culture.

So, if you're one of those that have complained on this forum, byte me (send me a text sheesh), I'd be interested to see where your head space is at...


As a Trainer/Assessor we use a training calendar to see where we have to go each day.  Sometimes we have to drive for over an hour to work which gets a little annoying.  We have a variety of courses we can teach depending on your work experience and qualifications.  The professional development for staff is excellent.  Induction is good and the workplace culture is excellent.  The hardest part of the job would be travelling interstate and being stuck in a place that is horrible for weeks.

Bad : pay rates for trainers are low, causing a high turnover of training staff.

The three owners and the compliance manager are amazing, knowledgeable, transparent and supportive to all staff. Didn't have a lot of conversation with the sons except to sign off on uniforms etc. The middle management team are cousins and very shifty. Will do what ever it takes to save each others behinds; including employing their own children as business trainers, with no experience or qualifications in the industry.   

Great, friendly staff and approachable managers who really care about their students learning experience. Ability to work pretty autonomously, with timely support available whenever needed. The best students I’ve ever taught, hardworking, motivated and respectful. Beautiful campus. 

Stratigix is a tafe that looks after its students, the students and staff all had access to a fridge as well as free tea, coffee and pancakes. 

They made the students feel at home and comfortable within the enviroment which improved the ability of which i learned.

Worked with a great supportive team, very helpful during pandemic. Management organise professional developments for staff. Provide up to date information about work and any change. 

They gave you all the aspects of Cert 3 in driving operations and HR Driving as well as fatigue management, OH&S, carrying capacities and all tie downs to do with the transport and logistics industry.

I had a great experience working at Strategix. They are using the latest updated system to work with, which makes trainers' jobs easy and environmentally friendly. I left only because it was far from home.

Great culture and supportive team.  Has a very client focused attitude to how it conducts itself.  Strong motive to improve the lives of others and create opportunities.
