Stratcos state retail management team and the other "supporting" staff members who offer you assistance never provide you with help. I worked at Stratco for a little over a year and not once did I feel the management would provide assistance. In advance to that, the store I worked at had toxic store manager. This man would only provide assistance if you were doing well in regards to your KPI's and never offer assistance if it meant you would beat him. Small minded people making poor business decisions in the retail sector.

Further to this, excellence was never once commended. If you achieved your targets and exceeded by a long way, you were never congratulated.Poor incentive structure depending on what side of the business you are on. For me, I was never made aware that there was an incentive on offer until I randomly received one. But in saying that, the incentive structure seemed to change month to month and would never be the same.

Working '38' hours is a myth. There is an expectation to work 1.5hrs overtime each day, even if not exactly spoken about; this would be due to being understaffed. The company as a whole do not work together nicely. When there are certain departments for each division of Stratco and its products, none of them seem to help each other, leaving unresolved issues and blaming of problems. Retail stores seem left to fix issues they are not part of, even though the retail staff are meant to be serving customers, there is too much work put on them that is not 'their' job, meaning they are then expected to work unreasonable hours. 
The whole company needs a massive system overhaul in order for their issues to be resolved, even minor issues seem to be ignored if they don't affect management enough.

I started working at a regional Stratco when I just turned 15 and worked there for 4 years, they offered no training and just expected me know EVERYTHING about the job.

I worked in customer sales which included serving customers, putting away stock, answering phones, cleaning etc. It gets unbelievably busy on weekends and you can't even sit down on your breaks.

I loved all the whole team I worked with, they were so nice and looked after me. Higher ups didn't even care about our employees and manager, we were all worked to the bone and all they cared about was sales. Customers should come before sales.

The hardest part of the job was the busy weekends, few staff and so much running around. The personal sales goals are ridiculous and just get higher and higher. The best part of the was the team I worked with.

Certain stores needed to be 'picked' everyday with a list that contained items that the stores had asked for to fill their stock levels. This ensured that the storemen had to have a certain level of time management to guarantee that the stores had received their stock in time.
Management could have been much, much better as there was no contact with anyone outside of the direct supervisor. False and broken promises made early in the career.
Co-workers were very friendly and always willing to help. good to have a laugh and easy to talk to.
The job itself was very easy as once the job was learned, it didn't require much practice to get good at.
The job itself was very enjoyable with a good rate of pay for no experience.

Stratco Industries warehouse division is a great place to work for anyone who likes to work alone. Initiative is treasured, but clear instructions are available to those who ask. Work days are often very much the same, but KPI's can make the hum drum a tad bit more interesting. I found the management and the co-workers to be lovely, decent people, and they were definitely the best thing about the job. The hardest part of the job was definitely keeping motivated despite doing the same thing day in and day out, but this of course is somewhat subjective. It takes a special, very specific kind of person to endure this workplace for an extended period of time, but as a temporary job it is sufficient for most.

A typical day would start on an afternoon shift, I would do my normal forklift checks and then after a brief tool box meeting work would start.I learned new skills on a press and forklift called a crab. Management were unseen but made an appearance when they needed too. My co workers and supervisors were the best always were looking out for me and ready to help. The hardest part of the Job was working a afternoon shift which could go until the early hours of the morning sometimes until the start of the day shift, this left me with little sleep, for the next shift.The most enjoyable part of the the job was learning new lift skills. every day was a new day and new challenge.

Stratco seems like a good place to work, however they are the kind of company which would rather cut a corner to save a dollar than to fix the fundamental issues wrong with their store. There is a bad culture within the store which does not encourage staff to take the role seriously. Customer orders are constantly being mixed up due to basic communication errors and instead of finding solutions to these problems, everyone, including management, seems to turn a blind eye.

The only saving grace for this job is that the role is quite straightfoward and autonomous - receving and dispatching the load, as well as other general retail duties.

As a vehicle loader this was a very frustrating company to work for due to the processes or should i say the lack of processes they had in place. Apart from that the company itself is not bad, the management were ok and most all the people on the factory floor as well as in the office and retail departments were really good to work with as well as all the truck drivers. Just need to implement some better work practices.


Provide and handle any customer inquiries, complaints, refunds and questions using effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills. 
Speak to suppliers on a regular bases in regards to plants that need ordering for stock, customers or landscapers. 
Order, receive, stock and manage plants within the nursery. 
Face out and present stock for customer purchase as well as provide general store maintenance and cleanliness.

A typical day at Stratco is challenging in terms of dealing with customers with various needs. I have learned to be patient and to improve my critical thinking abilities for customer's request.The management is flexible.My co-workers are helpful. The hardest part of the job is dealing with hard customers. The most enjoyable part of the job is when I gain the trust and have a great transaction with the customer.
