Depending on what sector you worked in would depend on what you did. I worked in service so got to work at a lot of cool places, like defence force bases, newspaper factories whilst seeing a lot of country Victoria and even Hobart for a month,
I learned heaps at this company. Being a large company i had the opportunity to work in many different environments and seeing things done from a different angle.
Management were well organised and well presented. There was a nice vibe around the office and work site with everyone really friendly.
This is one of those jobs which i really enjoyed so don't have much bad to say about it. It was a shame that the GFC made me redundant.

Changed eba/agreements wording without knowledge. Made people redundant to avoid paying profit share, then advertised job a day later. Also made tier 5 electricians redundant so they can bring newer staff in at tier 3 then don’t promote as agreed under conditions. Some managers run a dictatorship and are not like by staff or builders which has had an effect on winning contracts. Top managers trying to implements a safer environment but lower managers do not support so when questioned people are victimised. If in doubt the very fa t that many are leaving (including tier 5) due to the attitude change and managers now in place.

The worst project manager ever. When you have to beg for material to do your job and get nothing, you know things are bad. Tasks were taking way longer than they should because the lack of gear, they couldn't even supply fixings or screws, we needed to ask other trades or find them on the floor. If you couldn't find the gear you are then instructed to steal gear from other trades to finish the job. Corners cut ever day, using gear that was not suitable for the job because it was onsite ( either Stowes or another trades) not a professional finish to a very large comms project.

A typical day at would be signing doing a safety talk, getting a set of plans and heading off to get the materials to do the work. For example getting a roll of cable and ruffing in the cable.
management taught me how to act and handle myself on site. The hardest part of my is knowing when the next job was coming up or when I would be finishing up on the current job. and the most enjoyable part of my job was the roasted days off, the ability to have long weekends when I wanted.

Having worked at Stowe for some 10 years in a stressful position, I took ownership of the role and gave 110% every day. I enjoyed every aspect of my work, but unfortunately was made redundant.

Company as a whole is excellent. The Toowoomba Grand central shopping center construction management have a lot of room for improvement. Unfortunately the project management was not a true example of Stowe which I am assured from my workmates on the site is a progressive and collaborative company.

I worked for Stowe through WorkPac Labour Hire. The job had a good team spirit. As with all job with target dates, ie the opening of the Commonwealth Games, questions were asked by Stowe Management to the Client and delayed answered given. The crew still met the dead line.

Run by some really incompetent managers that have nothing but self interest. There wasn't much to learn with them as they keep you in the dark, except for the select few which are pretty much all related somehow to managers
