I started at Startek in early 2019 as a customer service consultant. A secondment popped up and I was encouraged to apply as the interviewer remembered me mentioning my relevant experience. After that secondment ended another similar internal job listing soon popped up and again both management and co-workers encouraged me to apply. I'm currently working within the Sales and Marketing team! 

There are many different avenues for career development as Startek is very passionate about internal job hiring and providing career advancement opportunities. 

Even when working as a customer service consultant, management and HR are always trying to make a fun, engaging and motivational work environment for every level of the business. 

I work with a fantastic team of people from all aspects of the business and really do recommend Startek as a great place to start a career. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Going home they treat you like rubbish
here no management nor management skill here 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The 2 supervisors that sit in the office all day doing nothing apart from talk bad behind everyone’s back they even do it when your in the office they are always having a dig about somebody

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sort parcels in the morning starting at 7:30.
Get disrespectful up until you’ve left the shed then your free on your run but then have the dread to go back to the work shed to drop off parcels, vehicle sign off if your not needed and go home 
REPEAT next day

Working at Startek has been the worst experience of my life.  Every day I hated going to work. This is due to the terrible wage, terrible leave and sick benefits, and terrible management.

Managers are constantly watching your activity and micromanaging you. And you are only allowed 8 minutes of personal time per day. 8 minutes to refill your water and use the bathroom several times per day.

It feels like you are lying to customers as the processes and solutions you are informing them about are extremely slow and unreliable.

The most enjoyable part of the job is clocking off for the day.

I have been working at Startek for over a year now and have enjoyed my time there a lot. The best thing is how encouraging the managers are if you want to progress within the company. Opportunities are widely available and if you put yourself forward the managers support you on your journey as much as possible. I also really like the way management appreciates and acknowledges the team's efforts; including occasional free lunches and team competitions to keep everyone engaged. I would definitely recommend job seekers to apply with Startek as it's a great place to start your career!

The work involved a barrage of calls day in day out for our contractor. We were understaffed, underpaid, overworked and they expect cheap, quick and good work where in a world you can only have 2 of those. Little to no workplace culture, pathetic attempts to try and get people to engage in workplace development that was unorganized. 

My time there induced too much stress from all the micromanagement and strict procedure based practice that you loose your humanity.

Don't expect anything good to come of working for startek. They only care about their bottomline and stock price.

Banking consultant job was not as described. "Out sourcing" is a fancy way of saying call centre. Toxic work environment as supervisors are pushy and watch ur clocks inns and out. Poor management as there is never enough workers, as everyone leaves this dump. Unpaid 15 min breaks though out the 8 hour shifts. Even on a causal contract you are still expected to work 40 hour weeks (including 1 hour break daily). Culture was worse than a high school setting. 

Bargain with demanding/I-ll mannered/nasty callers majority of working time to then having biased management that do nothing besides micro manage your every move all day and that dismiss your humanly and worker rights. Salary is too low for such great efforts. 

If Startek trust that following such prejudice process' in opposition to employees will be beneficial for the company in the long haul, it won't be very long until you register the high employee turnover. 

High company turnover because of the high number of calls we need to take and all the responsibilities given to us without adequate training.

Everyday is stressful as we just don't receive enough info to help brokers with the complicated inquiries. (Which are the majority of the questions).

You need to be a certain personality agreeable to management and floor supervisors in order to get any help during your calls. I legitimately was left on the phone with a customer complaint for a full hour being hurled at abuse and their senior floor staff sat and joked with each other about who would have to help me. Go to another call centre. This place also calls themselves Aegis.
