Teamwork formed a big part of my time at Staples. We all pulled together as a team to achieve tasks set before us. Management was great as they listened to our ideas and allowed us to act upon them to see how they worked out within the scope of the Staples Australia. My co-workers also became friends as we all cared about each other after the workday was done.
The hardest part of the job was the low level of customers that came through the door. As a company, Staples encourage customers to order online and that tends to discourage people from coming into the store.
My most enjoyable part of the job was the variety. One day I could be rushing around the Copy Centre, and the next day I could be delivering furniture and, the day after that, I could be selling a new business hundreds of dollars of Office products.

A typical day at work involves analysing your current pipeline and implementing sales strategies.  This includes contacting customers and setting face to face meetings, reviewing client accounts and identifying new opportunities and preparing quotes and proposals. Management strategy has changed recently towards a flat management structure particularly in middle management.  This is to create a leaner accountable team. Overall the workplace culture is good with many people supporting each other. The hardest part about the job is the amount of internal team and supplier meetings.  The most enjoyable part of the job is looking after customers.

Nope just that I have a blasted working there, with some of the most amazing people in the IT Department.

Just go in and clock in and start.
You learn something new everyday sometimes the tasks are hard but you learn to cope with it and ask if need be. My used to be co- workers were like family to me helped me when I'm stuck. My supervisor was great and funny too my I add which liven the work load a bit. There hardest part was looking for the products but was in another area but you get by just by asking around. The most enjoyable part working there are those that I worked with, like I said before they were like family to me.

The day starts with setting up the cash in the tills and logging onto the computers. 
I learned a lot about stationary, printers and ink cartridges, office furniture how to research and order in products that we didn't stock, from other branches.
Management was great and I appreciated the flexibility. I learned a lot from my co workers who soon become friends. The hardest part of the job was when we had computer issues and we had to resort to other means until the problems where fixed. The most enjoyable part was serving the customers and enjoying a laugh or two with the regulars.

A typical day at work as a removalist offsider is hopping into the truck going to the first house/unit help load up the truck with furniture and unloading the trucks which takes abit of energy, heavy lifting and  you need to have good listening skills. 
Im always learning something new everyday always looking forward to learning something.
The Work place culture is  like one big happy family good/funny hard workers.
Hardest part would be trying to carry your own body weight down or up stairs.
Enjoyable part of the job would have to be meeting so many great people.

My role oversees the Major Clients in the Hunter/Central Coast Region.   

This is constantly change so meeting challenges is on-going due to high competitive activity.

At Staples we have just gone through another round of redundancies which is four in total since 2011.  The company is constantly restructuring.

Concerning is the job security - I am now the only Account Manager operating in the Hunter/Central Coast - the portfolio is overloaded.

i really enjoyed my time there, i loved the fast pace of picking /pcking even though the hours could be very long, when we moved from sydney city to outer west sydney wanted to do something different and went into receiving office really enjoyed that, loved problem solving and i worked with a great team of people. when redundancies were offered in january this year i decided to take it as i wanted to return to new zealand to retire.

I would work there again if I could great environment good people and always was busy. I’m a active person and it was the perfect job for me. It was a convenient job for me to get to had my own transport and the bosses were very straight forward when it comes to work which is great but also had great personality. I no longer work there but was great full for the job cause i learnt so much and became a better person not just personally but work ethic was 100 percent up a level

staples is a great company to work for with 60000 skus and the variety of work and challenges is fantastic 

with the sale of Staple US and now Aust/NZ up for sale 

it is making me feel that the same will happen here as previous roles with companies closing and changing and future unclear for me 

I am looking for a variety of roles with a clear future, stability, and always looking to grow and advance

As expected in a large and geographically diverse company there is only one way to do things, and that's "The Staples Way". Good company to work for if you are of the same mindset.

Very top-down approach and lots of reporting required. Went through major redundancies a few years ago and still shrinking workforce slowly.
