No one day is always the same. We are an amazing team that work collaboratively for the benefit of the clients we support. Even though there are a lot of staff and clients we are all part of the St. John's family. Management are really committed and are great mentors who work alongside us and help us to grow . Their is no hard part of the job once you understand the programs and services. Unfortunately for some  people their job expectations are not realised and sadly move on.

Please do not apply for any position with this company if it be casual or fulltime. After many years of working with the company they have no respect for their employees & the hard work they put in. Management are extremely toxic & losing your sanity is not worth the pay check. 

Pros:
Those who are looking for experience & have been denied the chance to do so can find a job with this company. Due to its high turnover, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience & advance your career.

Con's:
Lack of realistic expectations at work creates a negative and unhealthy work environment.
Just don't do it to yourself. 

Constant recruit for a reason. This organisation does not value its clients and only views them as revenue - hiding behind "Not for profit status" but management use every to opportunity to look after themselves. No structure，no intelligent leadership. Revolving door of staff, clients needs are not valued,  insufficient training of new staff - sent to look after clients without support. Duty of Care does not exist in this organisation.

Care staffs with nursing background are not welcome for they tend to get the training funds from the gorverment. After three months employed you are in the top list to be sacked. Again, constant recruit for a reason.


This company poorly treats its staff. Working in this environment is stressful. Staff are treated like numbers or objects, easily dispensed of depending on management's  like or dislike of the person, ratner than work performance. Computer system is prioitized over real situations. No recognition of work ethic of staff.  Poor delivery and assesmemt of any training given. Tick the box is all that counts.

Great variety in your working day. Each client has different support needs. Making every day a new experience for clients and yourself. 
Absolutely love coming to work each day.

The hardest part of the job for me is to know that each day I am making someones day.

DO NOT WORK FOR ST JOHNS! THEY HIRE AND FIRE AT INSANE RATES. They will fire any employee at any time and will give you NO reason. They do not care about people at all! Terrible management, and absolutely NO TRAINING. Terrible communication. Only in it for the $$$$ does not care about its clients or employees. Clients have seen so many employees go in and out, terrible place! 

Putting smiles on our senior citizens,learnt new skills,Hardest part of the job is the electronic system where you have to scan on and off at each clients homes at a time specified on roster but at times with traffic ,lights,school zones and unforseen circumtances it is difficult.

Company does not take anything on board and management doesn't care for staff. Have seen in my 1.5. years here over 100+ staff turnover. I have been in hospital and still expected to work. No training provided. Save yourself and don't do it

I was previously in a hospitality role.
Found my dream job at St. John's. Excellent training and support.
I have never looked back and can't see myself doing anything else.
Each day is different but very rewarding.
Everyone is welcomed as a member of the St. John's Family Clients and staff.

The organisation is run by a narcissistic chairman who makes every decision including for a spend of $5.00. 

Managers are just there for window dressing. The Board is also there for window dressing. You go and work there entirely at your own risk
