I would start work at 4:30 am, driving to the yard to set up the washer and set up the platform.  Make sure the cows are loading into the yard properly and begin milking.  After milking there is a massive amount of washing to do: the platform, the yard, the milking equipment, the floor.  Then we might do whatever work is needed on the farm, this would change almost every day.  Sometimes it would be feeding, injecting or moving calves.  Sometimes it would be dismantling sheds or building sheds.  Sometimes it would be moving the cows or repairing fences.  Dozens of different jobs would need to be done throughout my three month stay on the farm so I would always need to be ready and willing.  There would also be another milking in the afternoon with the same duties as in the morning.

I learned an enormous amount from this experience, so many different skills but also my admiration and respect for farmers and their work ethic will never be forgotten.  That work rate and commitment despite the conditions would never be absent and it therefore inspired me to be thankful for what I have and to work hard with everything I do and give it my all.

The manager was tough but very fair, he was also easy to speak to.  There was no doubt who was in charge but he communicated very well with all of the staff and he treated you with respect and was well mannered.  He would always be up for a laugh also, and this light hearted approach made him an easy boss to work for.  Perhaps the best manager I have worked under.

All the staff at the farm were very friendly and hardworking, everybody grafted hard at the farm but we could all have fun with each other as well and this made the team very good at what we done.  We knew when it was time to have a laugh but most of the time it was serious and hard work.  

The hardest part of the job at the start was close relationship you have with the animals, it was difficult to milk and inject the cows at first, also handling the calves would create problems.  However these difficulties only lasted a few days as there is no hiding place on a dairy farm, if you are not pulling your weight you will be told in no uncertain terms to leave.  The hours can be long and anti-social and the work can be very messy and demanding but it was one of the most fun experiences I have ever had and there is absolutely nothing I would change about the experience.

The most enjoyable part of the job was working with the other farmers and even the dogs who would occasionally assist in getting the cows in.  There are so many things I enjoyed about the job, but most of all I enjoyed the fact that this was something that was completely different to anything I've ever done and completely out of my comfort zone.

Hardest part of my job would been a contractor and cuts had to be made due to the price drop of Iron Ore. Knowing that any day could be my last day made it hard.
There was a opportunity to operate different machinery.
unfortunately cuts were made.
Most enjoyable part of my job would have been not knowing what the next day would bring. 
Always working around different areas different people.
Every day I was there everything was completed safely, always watching out for each other.

Site was very safe, skilled would check in regularly - getting PPE was an excercise, they initially wanted employees to pay for it then realised that was illegal and provided everyone with low quality gear.
Generally communication was good but pay issues every second week, which were fixed but you still wind up a few dollars out until the next pay cycle.
Pay was ok, but not really competitive - they take a fair cut from what the client company pays per person so don't hang around longer than you need to.

I enjoyed that i took ownership of my role as i was the only team member. 

I loved that i could start early which meant i could leave early.  

I didn't like the fact that it wasn't close to home and employees had to pay for parking.

It was hard to learn the automated allocation system but once it was i learnt how it worked it became fine.

It was an exciting challenge to make sure all the allocations were done before 12 midday which sometimes didn't happen due to problems within the system.

my duties as a road sweeper driver consisted of daily maintance check of my truck and sweeping local roads and footpath with a mini sweeper witch  I also operated between my large road sweeper in acordance to council requirements.i had a great  relationship with management who were always at hand to help and look after us.with all the years I have been in the waste industry and working in council contracts I have met great work collegues witch have become friends and we worked very close as a team together.

A typical day at work was vacing  cleaning up product build up i learnt the correct way to yous the tools given to us for the task.as far as i was concerned managmeant was great.The hardest part of the job was knowing if your doing everything correctly and safley.Most of all i enjoyed the work all round liked it no problem

Since the merger to Programmed Skilled this company is progressing in obtaining clients. I have learnt that the telephone work is fast and furious whilst accuracy is needed. My co-workers are great and a real team environment is present. The new Manager has time to listen.

Casual event staff hired for things like Barbagallow raceway and Glousterpark.
I have learned to adapt quickly to fast pace work environments and always enjoy the atmosphere.

good days work for a good days pay the hardest part was was not no where you be next the best part of the job meating new people I got moved around back then but love the work they made sure you where happy in your job

No sick pay, no RDO's, no annual leave, and no benefits.

I would not recommend them to anyone.

They are also very slow to inform you of your start time for the next day of work.
