Would not recommend this company at all. No training at all, no problem if you are confident however other companies do buddy shifts when you first start and sidekicker don't. Even before your Id and uniform turn up you are pressured to apply for jobs. Once you get a job however, there there is no guarantee that job will be forthcoming. In one week alone I had 5 jobs cancelled on me. The first one I  wasn't even notified about and had driven over half an hr to get there. I complained to sidekicker which was an ordeal in itself, and eventually told that I would get a Min shift payment for the loss however it never turned up. Told that the other 4 cancelled shifts was just tough luck basically. I have tried sending them msgs about the lost pay, however they don't even reply now. Communication with this lot is terrible. Do not expect backup or support. Know one will call you even when you ask. They will never maintain a loyal staff if this is how they treat people. 

With over 10,000 staff members (not all active) the hardest part is to get your first jobs to build your profile in the platform.

Once that is done, everything is great. I enjoy that I get to pick my availability and having worked through SK for so long, happy that I am offered most of the jobs that I apply for.

Travelling to new locations can sometimes be challenging, finding entrances and muster rooms but once you do it once or twice, then it's all worked out.

You also get to meet a lot of people so it can be quite a social experience if you want to make friends et cetera.

The required skill for the jobs is not massive.

It's my add-on work so I don't have to rely on it heavily but one downside would be, if I did, that hours are not guaranteed.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Being able to choose your working hours ( the cons of this is that you are not always chosen for applied shifts )

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
no guaranteed hours, sometimes no direction from staffs at facilities about routines and workflow and residents with challenging behaviors'.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I wouldn't say it's a environment and culture it's much more like an application to find shifts with minimal communication between staffs and management.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I haven't been doing shifts with them for awhile however it's an app.

I worked for this company and yes the money is good but they fire you and use the reliability test against you if you cancel shifts because apparently bad hints or getting sick is not acceptable.  I have had many friends fired from here for being sick and needing to cancel a shift or personal problems.  They don’t care just all about the money. My dad was diagnosed with a terminal illness and I needed to cancel shifts through emergencies and they fired me. I appealed and explained and still no consideration.  Worst ever company. Glad I’m out!!!  Way better agencies out there they actually care about their staff

They do not care about your well-being at all. I got sick a while back with a chest infection, called to let them know I wouldn’t be able to work for the week because of this and they asked if I was happy to withdraw just for the shifts on that particular day. If you fall behind on reliability, which is not so hard when you’ve got an illness that doesn’t clear up within a day, they punish you by deactivating your account. Do not care about people working under their brand, just their clients and the money. And clients can cancel shifts right at the last minute and not be punished!!!

The company is absolutely terrible and does not care one bit about Sidekickers (casual employees using the platform). They had cancelled my account on a baseless claim saying i had not turned up for a shift i had been hired for but this had been cancelled on their end hence not enabling me to access the address or timesheet for the job at hand. The pay is not on par with other companies which have similar jobs, the network is least interested in addressing emoloyee concerns. I would not recommend this platform to anyone who is looking for casual work. terested

Company requested I sign up with Sidekicker so I got on the books straight away... still took a week. Given 3 weeks consecutive shifts, then nothing. Called Sidekicker agent, to follow up and their number is no longer in service- so assuming they left, ? Who knows? If so, my file should have been given to someone else. Absolutely would not recommend this agency to recruit any of your staff! So disorganised and obviously not a great place to work, if they can't even retain their own employees

Working at sidekiker you may learn a lot from different a ways to do hospitality job. They really give you the opportunity to start working as overseas student and also with a fair and respectful treatment and payment.

The only problem is they don't have a lots of events to cover so you may have one or two shift every two months. So, is a very casual but is a good option to start broken the barrier and to interact in Asutralia life.

SideKicker pay a significantly higher rate than my other 2 nursing agencies. They are always very quick to reply to any questions or needs you have via the chat in the app and are also available by phone 24/7 for any concerns/issues that may arise when you’re on shift. I always feel well supported by this agency.  I only want to work part time so I’m always able to find sufficient shifts on on the app. I’m not sure if this would always be the case for someone needing full time work though. 

Beware of working For SideKicker. As they have rules that are against Employee Rights. This Rules Are their Reliabilty Standards and Reliabilty Score Chart. SideKicker uses this against you and evertually have you sacked with these Reliabilty Standards and Reliabilty Score Chart. They do not ever let you have a sick day and the pay in most places is very low.
