Shiels Jewellers

As a previous Sales Assistant employee of a brand new Shiels NSW store. I wouldn’t recommend working for this company. I witnessed management from South Australia continue to use casual and full-time employees making empty promises, pressuring staff with high KPI expectations (most never satisfied with KPI’S) especially with not understanding new team environment and much needed training, lots of pressure always in store, Just sell, make money for the company. Not much support with future development for any Sales Assistant roles. No justifications for poor treatment. Witnessed other staff extremely stressed on multiple occasions. Personally wouldn’t want anyone else to be treated poorly. Little to no training expecting to do extremely well as a Sales Assistant. Overall please consider other jobs instead.

They expect you to literally not have a life. I was a casual who was studying full time.  One manager was absolutely horrible; would yell at staff, call them horrible names behind their backs, call them useless and then hardly gave casuals shifts if she had a problem with them. Another manager was much nicer but expected us to all live and breathe shiels. 
The BDM was not too bad. But the culture between stores and the The lady that stepped up to be BDM occasionally was just a store manager who prioritised her stores over others. Very bad culture between stores. 
Both managers and assistant managers are expected to not have a life outside shiels. Your rostered days off cannot be changed. Annual leave is hardly ever accepted.

During my  three years within Transworld enterprises leading company of  Shiels Jewellers, a nationally known franchise in Western Australia, South Australia and Queensland; and whom own Grahams Jewellers a luxury based South Australian store, I have gained priceless and extensive knowledge in the field of jewellery, business and management. 

I've learned in high end sales, that having a team that work cooperatively is the most effective way for a store to run efficiently and bring in customers and revenue with a friendly, strong team who are willing to help each other in making sure the store continues to succeed.

Learnt about all aspects of jewellery, sales and merchandising with opportunities to work in different stores and head office also. A great experience but a lot of pressure in regards to sales targets. I absolutely loved the merchandising side of the position and learning all of the different aspects of working within a sales driven company. A wonderful learning experience.

I would never recommend this company to anyone. This company is full of bully’s. 
The upper management is absolutely disgusting, they have no idea how to treat there staff. They don’t value any of there staff and treat everyone as just a number. 
None of the upper management follow the core values of the company, but try shove them down every employees throat.

First day of work I turned up at the 'wrong' store when it was advertised that the position was in fact for that store. Then state manager on the phone asked if I was 'giving her attitude'. Rude.

Guilted if you didn't meet sales targets.

Would not work there again, i felt disrespected and belittled on a regular basis, Casual staff were fantastic, Other store managers were great, Disrespectful area manager and poor organization at some head office departments

Constant pressure for sale, which in my opinion divides and causes lots of stress between coworkers.
The regional manager does not have people skills. It,s shame that good people had to lose their job for wrong reasons

toxic place to be, staff being bullied & pushed out of the company left right and centre. no rewards for hard work. only people that get seen are the people that suck up to the state manager and they aren’t even good at what they do. all about the power trips in this company.

You’d have staff taking your sales off you, cattiness between most of the staff. A lot of lying and back stabbing as well. Personally I don’t recommend working for them, didn’t enjoy the time there.
