Sealed Air

There are many senior management personnel who have risen through the ranks because they have kissed the right butts and amassed massive frequent flyer points which illustrates their importance and standing within the company. Their contribution is nil.
Now, the company has a quota system for females. Long overdue in some respects but the problem now is that very incompetent women are being promoted based on their sexuality rather than their talent. Don't get me wrong - this business has its own fair share of male buffoons and there are many very capable women able to do the jobs in question but this quota system of "fill the positions regardless" is encumbering an anti women stance. Sealed Air is treading a very fine line between being empowering and being misandrous.
Apart from that, the usual large corporate middle management of people who defer to others. The most disappointing thing is that nobody in power walks the floor and talks to the troops. It is clearly below them yet these are the people who (refer above re kissing butt) have enamored themselves into senior roles and are now having input into the impending restructure. So I'm not hanging around - I've been through 2 restructures and none of them have been nice. The good people get the boot and the incompetent get promoted. A negative comment and an assumption - that is granted but I'm not willing to bet that my third restructure is going to be any different. So I'm done. And to those that were about to retire but decided to hang on because they got the word that a restructure was happening - well done, an extra 6 months at your pay rate for doing little has resulted in probably an extra 2 years in redundancies. I just wished that we could all play the system like that but one thing is for sure - inconsistency and double standards. I hope that the new global CEO makes an impression but somehow I doubt it.
All we want is to contribute and to be heard. We care as much as the next person but in this company it is irrelevant.

Check orders required  within SAP that generated overnight.
Correct way to use SAP to ensure dates are known by all who use SAP.
Ensure management are advised when required of issues with suppliers.
Learn co-workers jobs so easy transition for all when leave is required.
Ensure leadtime dates are met and follow through for all orders and track shipping notes.
Thoroughly enjoy achieving good results for situation that just looked impossible.

Unless you are a female you don't stand a chance the managers are all female all supervisors are all female and 80% of the factory is female, Double standards run rife with in the company a rule for females and a rule for every one else. Management is all about numbers how many bags can you produce using old faulty equipment  and substandard materials, and don,t bother complaining about safety, unless you get injured you have no say on safety issues unless management bring it up. Management love the sound of their own voice not the sound of yours!!!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing. Absolute disgrace of a Production Manager, full of hot air.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Afraid of falling asleep listening to management talking and not say anything 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Shameful in way people of colour are discriminated against 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Boring. No variety and challenges. People  not working together or engaged

a good working day is when you learn a new thing from a mate and makes team work much more fun , I work night shift for 12 years and management meets individual needs of workers when needed . The hardest part of the job is when you have more product returns from customers which does look good for the company and the most enjoyable part of the job is when you have a good quality production and meets the production target at the end of your shift.

The company has great people working for them although the global direction from NA does not seem to be followed through in the Asia Pacific region leaving some confusion on the future of the company in our region.

This company provides flexible working time and consider with the personal or family time. They also allowed me to learn many aspects in the Supply Chain division, however due to many complexities of the organization structure, sometimes you have to report to many superiors. 
The culture is ok, people tend to be easy going, but communication was still an issue between each department.

Good company that is striving to change their management style.
In an infancy to develop a true collaborative culture but with a vision to succeed from the CEO will eventually establish this.
Exceptional staff, who work with good loyalty and can expand your horizons

Ok, I was a casual for the company for 2yrs. I worked full time hours the whole time + overtime.
I was promised a permanent position when I was moved to another department. After return back to my department, I got a ONE DAY NOTICE by the supervisor!!!!

Sealed Air Entapack is a great place to work for the management team is fantastic. Co-workers work well as a team. Learned alot when I was there, very challenging but that's what I liked.  My boss is the best.
