I have nothing but incredible things to say. Samaritans foundation is a excellent organisation to work for. They provide ongoing training and support to workers and deliver an excellent hi level of care to its clients. Clients are well loved and looked after and so are the staff. I was very sad to leave as i relocated north. But i would have stayed as i feel it has been one of the best companys i have ever had the pleasure to work for. 
i found them encouraging in situations, never felt beaten down for making a mistake but was well supported and believed when the sistuation arised. 
The management are wonderful and supportive of each other which flows down to the staff. 
I loved all aspects of my role as  a casual disability support worker, i got paid a bucket also. the penalty rates are excellent. and the hours are fairly flexible.

Typical days at work include anything from a 2-hour shift to an 8-hour shift, you have the option to choose which shifts you prefer to be rostered for, even as a casual. There is the usual documentation involved each shift. Working arrangements are flexible. Wide range of clientele with diverse needs - ranging from basic support needs like support during medication administration to more complex needs. There is on the job training so you will always feel equipped for your role. Large company, but they genuinely care about each and every one of their employees.

Samaritans Foundation was a fabulous place to work where I was given the opportunity to learn and grow as well as utilise the skills and knowledge I have. The opportunities are endless for career progression and there is always support and encouragement from colleagues and management. 
Great work/life balance

Particular teams can be wonderful, collaborative and flexible. Management unfortunately lacks the core values they promote.
Samaritans coordinates a range of excellent services however the way they treat corporate teams is anything but excellent. 
They undertook mass redundancies with no warning, no rationale or process. They lost great people.

I love my job I learn something new everyday it's a privilege to be part of the people we care for lives.Its challenging and rewarding in ways that will be with me throughout my life.

Unfortunately people are promoted too quickly into management roles, when they have a lack of knowledge and experience in working in the Disability sector. Then a negative work place culture is promoted and encouraged by poor decision making that stems from management. 

Positive   :Staff make job enjoyable during stressful times 
Negative  :Rosters do not take fatigue into consideration 
Constructive Criticism : The outsourcing of staff training would be beneficial 
Most enjoyable part of he job supporting people with disabilities

working in group homes around the central coast was amazing, staff were amazing to management and clients, pay is good although with lots of changes to the company i had lost many hours and forced me to leave the company 

Some very lovely staff and clients to work with while management are sometimes bias in decision making. Overall i love to work with them. Staffs does not need to use personal car except if you so wish.
