What is the best part of working at the company?
The job was outstanding, providing me with the opportunity to acquire new skills and build confidence. I would gladly work with them again if given the chance. The experience was enhanced by great colleagues, a safe work environment, and a fair wage. Honestly, it couldn't have been better.

Certain roles in this type of work (and would assume any company in the same industry) that is physically demanding and repetitive, often leading to some stress.

The work environment was satisfactory, offering safety and demanding conditions, which were enhanced by the support of its colleagues.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
honestly my duties were not exclusively limited to a repetitive set of tasks, which would be me.
Loading Trucks,
Cleaning the premises,
Operating the Forklift,
Working on the Recycling belt sorting thru recycling material.
And any other job that was required of me.

A typical days work at SKM was fairly routine. Trucks would come in to be loaded and/or dumped and my manager and I would both tend to them as needed. 
I would take care of the general maintenance of the front loader and conveyor belt on a weekly basis, along with many other tasks as well. 
The workplace culture at SKM is professional yet welcoming. I was made to feel at home right away and was shown the ropes by my manager with great enthusiasm. We ended up making a great team together. 
I did enjoy working for SKM very much. The only reason I unfortunately had to leave was due to having to relocate 2 hours away.

When I arrive at work, the first thing we do is wear our appropriate gear (gloves, face masks etc.), and get straight to work. If we arrive early, we get time to have coffee or tea. We sort out plastics, glass and aluminium from the rubbish. We have a lunch break at 6:45 to 7:00 then another at 9:50 and 11:45. After the breaks we go back to work.

The most enjoyable part of the job was working in teams, as we all helped each other like a small family. 

The hardest part of the job was handling the stench of the garbage, but I managed.

Had workers cleaning in confined spaces (without license), cleaning massive piles of recycling next to front end loaders and forklifts (two feet at best away). Would often have to crawl and climb over 6ft high piles of recycling that had poured out into the walkways. Horrible workplace

The above review is indicative of this company as they went in to receivership and were bought out by another company. The management was poor, the forklifts were old. The outside lighting (as there was a lot of outdoor work) was very poor. Not enough time for your breaks and very poor facilities.

An imported installation that was not fit for purpose, the project was run by a tool that had no idea about basic safety, making live changes to machines that were being worked on by technicians.
there was a constant push to get the plant operating long before it was ready for product.

 Overall, my experiance is the most enjoyable at SKM. the work culture is better than the expectations. Therefore, the willingness to do work is positively encouraging.

Skm is a bad company to work for they only care about them selves and do not care about their workers health or safety they are very disrespectful and do not care about their workers working in a unsafe environment

Work extremely hard for no recognition or thanks. Some weeks our pay was not there. I had to report them to the taxation department to get my super. It was impossible for me to get my subcontractors paid.

Typical day at work would start off at 2.30am a half an hour before we start production turn on the machines in the plant and then arrange staff for the day in the morning meeting and then go in and start production and keep the machines running through the shift.
