There is no typical day. In my mustering (trade) work is variable and includes office work, meetings, hands on work and demands a wide variety of skills.

I gained my aircraft mechanical trades (engine/airframe) and Non Destructive Testing qualification during my Airforce career. 

Management is highly dependant on individuals and varies alot. Whether someone is capable and popular is not as relevant as perhaps the ability of their staff to work ethically and effectively together. 

There are a wide variety of co-workers, of varying ages and attitudes. I see myself as flexible and able to get along with anyone, whether I like them or not. I am there to do a job to the best of my ability and learn and improve as I go.

Final approach and landing when traveling by aircaft. Always stresses me a bit.

Most enjyable part of the job is achieving something new and working with a team to accomplish some challenging task.

Excellent oportunities and support to study for degree and other advenced education schemes.

Excellent oportunities for travel and experience working in variety of conditions, providing challenges not necessarily available in standard companies.

To put it plainly, you could love your job/workplace one year, and be miserable the next. 

There is a fair chance you will have a new boss as well as new colleagues every 2 years meaning you're always adapting to not only management styles (often outdated), but also a working environment.

Because the military is so secure, managers and leaders who are incompetent have almost no grounds to lose their jobs and are not pushed to improve. 

My personal experience has in general been good, I have always enjoyed working with my peers and loved my job, however I cannot say the same for supervisors and sometimes senior high-ranking management. I have encountered bullying and unacceptable behavior and found little to no support when reporting the issues. 

You are required to move every 3 years and attend sometimes long and time wasting courses in order to progress in your career.

On the flip side, I have gained some incredible qualifications and experiences and have developed as a person, learning from both positive and negative experiences. I have generally been supported in whatever personal and professional development I desire and, depending on management, was treated like an adult.

The Royal Australian Air Force is a respected employer and rightly so, it follows the guidelines provided by legislation to an absolute value. However, that doesn't necessarily mean you get to work for the best people. In fact, you'd be surprised by the people who actually 'get in' and 'stay in' since it's literally the safest job in the world. Sadly, those who get promoted are not necessarily the best at what they do, rather they know who to rub the right way, or they know someone who knows someone. Staff-in-confidence is a joke in the RAAF, so be careful who you tell what. It's a smaller organization than you think, and you can count on being ousted if you do not fit the culture of your chosen mustering or specialization. If you can play the game, and you can work the system, the RAAF is your best friend. However, if you're a round peg going into a square hole, you won't get far in this organization.

A typical day would be waking up at 5am marching six kms for the day just for meals, physical training, first aid, fire fighting classroom lessons, drill practice, cleaning of barracks, washing and ironing and in bed at 10pm.

I learned more then I ever thought possible the people, places and things you get to experience you will never have outside of the military.

I lived with 4 girls to a room. you are around each other 24/7 but the bond you create and the teamwork that pulls you through the bad times makes them your family and you couldnt imagine going through it with anyone else.

The hardest part would be the lack of sleep and the physical demands that are put on you each day, again that is where your team mates get you through.

The best part would be what you get to enjoy and experience like the weapons, aircrafts and the benefits and lifestyle make it one of the best jobs.

There is no typical day at work, as the Personnel Capability Specialist is very wide in their scope of work. 

I have learnt teamwork and leadership, with both external and internal organisations, various ranks, difficult problems that requrire research, attention to detail.

Management, as per all work places, you get your good and your bad. You are unable to choose the good and bad mangement, but learn to work with what you have.

Again, co-workers vary depending on their motivation to be in the job, how much they are willing to learn/pay attention too.

In the RAAF as an Aircraft Refueller and Airfield Sweeper you can be anything from a Truck Driver to an Office Clerk, a Fuel Dispatcher to a Stock Manager. 

HC licence and Bulk Dangerous Goods Driver are just the basics, the real skills come from leading a team and meeting deadlines, keeping on-top of every potential and real obstacle.Doing what is needed to reach your goals.

Your unit is a family where you all do your jobs as a way of life and put all you have into it. Your best friends will always be by your side.

No rewards without work, days can be long and tiring, you may be asked to go further then you have ever before but it is worth eavery bit.

The straight-forward structure and balanced work/life approach is a great retreat to the civilain norm.

In the RAAF or Defence Forces there isn't really a typical day at work.  You go to your place of work knowing there are certain tasks to perform with the expectation that things could change at anytime during that day.

Things I learnt were, teamwork, acceptance of authority, how to question authority, diligence, integrity, trust, time management and foreseeing  obstacles and what needs to be done next.

The ranking structure of the RAAF gave clear guidance and career structure which enhanced the workplace culture of achieving the goals that were set by those in leadership.

Sometimes some of the tasks that were set weren't what I would call necessary but they were character building.

It was always enjoyable when you had achieved the objective.

A typical day in my position within the RAAF begins with a morning maintenance forecast and briefing on any relevant technical issues on military aircraft. I am tasked with prioritizing workloads and personnel to tasks, and whilst undergoing said tasks I am responsible for all OHS issues as well as training and supervision of junior members.  My Co-workers are typical young adults containing both genders, and the hardest part is maintaining a level of hierarchy whilst still motivating junior co-workers. The most enjoyable part of the job is the family environment Defense establishes and being able to exchange ideas and experiences with people across the continent

All cadets and staff gather for a start of night parade, where we march and inspect uniforms, then go inside to commence classes like:
- Field Craft: Bush and survival, OHS, Hygiene in the field etc. 
- Service Knowledge: History of the RAAF (Royal Australian Air Force) and ranks and people in the AAFC (Australian Air Force Cadets)
- Electives: Personal Development, Aviation (Air craft), Drill (marching) and fire arms and field communications. 

Then depending on time we will play games, like team building and leadership games.

I will usually spend my time teaching, organising activities, Commanding in drill and fault correcting, and paper work, and preparing for exams and keeping up with Cadets well being. 

then we all de brief and finish the night at 10pm

A typical day at work would of been setting yourself up ready for the residents eg serving their breakfast,lunch and dinner,doing the dishes and cleaning up making sure that the dining area was spotless.
Learned about different diets that the residents have that was really important
I had great co workers that were only too willing to help you whenever i needed it
The hardest part of the job really was the learning about the residents because there was no room for error but i enjoyed the learning part it gave me great knowledge 
The most enjoyable part of the job was the interaction with the residents this will stay with me forever
