Royal Adelaide Show

A typical day working at the Adelaide show, including explaining and sampling products and providing great customer service with an enthusiastic attitude. It was quite an enjoyable environment as it was fast paced and there was never a time you wouldn't be doing anything. It was very flexible and I was able to work both when they needed me and when it suited me. The hardest part of the job was the long days, as we would only have about a  half an hour break in a 7 hour shift, so it was tiring but still good fun. 
The most enjoyable part was creating friends and interacting with the customers when you can see they were genuinely excited about the Royal show, Especially the young children.

As the Royal Adelaide Show is very busy working there distributing Yellow Brick Showbags is very tiring and strenuous. As this job was in a small area it was only usually just me and one other person in the area usually one of us was filling the bags with the neccessary materials while the other worked with the customers this job changed every half hour or so. The co-workers were lovely as most of them were either in Rotary or Inner Wheel. The most enjoyable part of this job would have to have been the  communication skills I learnt, and the hardest part probably the limitations of only having one other person there, especially when it came to toilet breaks.

I enjoyed working in this place as I was able to do things that I have not experienced before, which was pretty easy to learn and follow. Throughout the day, what's expected is pre-packing show bags, interacting with customers and handling the cash register. at times it does get hectic but it was manageable. one of the things that i enjoyed was being able to make friends throughout the shifts.

Although its is only for 10 days a year the royla adelaide show is one of the most enjoyable places you could work at. You get the see lots of familys/friendfs enjoying themselves while on rides, buying showbags and looking at stalls. the hardest part of thois job was probably being on my feet all day for 10 days in a row.

it only happens once a year but it was really fun and I feel that I learnt a lot from it. We went in and got told what to do by the people who ran it, it ran really smoothly, some of the children were difficult but that is expected, We didn't get to sit down much but oh well

A typical day at work was setting out the wood and labelling what goes where. after each event we would then have 30-60 seconds to clean up the area by removing all of the remaining wood and setting up to new wood for the woodcutters.

I learned what the workplace environment was for manual labor.

Since working at the show the last 17  years a lot has change over the years ,but I learned a lot meet a lot of people also over years I get better in myself with cooking at a fast pace I didn’t think I could do but I did for the last 17 years . And still going

The mornings was quite long and at times was really cold monings but the people who I worked with was amazing and made the day go peacefully the management was great knew what needed to be done and got the job done wicked experience that's for sure.

Working at the Royal Adelaide Show, was alright, but they took a month and a half to pay me and they never answered my calls and/or got back to me when I called them, they were very unprofessional
