After many years in the system still no two days are the same changing from basic care delivery to saving a life in a minute. Thinking on your feet is something picked up quickly. Liaison and explanation of care to patients, some of non English background needs lateral thinking. Liaising with management demands a big picture approach. Team work is essential or sooner or later you will drown on a busy day. Most enjoyable part is a meaningful thank you and a smile on an otherwise madly busy shift. If you want a challenge and think that you can deliver this is it. A better opportunity for career growth would be hard to find.

Taking care of elderly people with love and care with respect and dignity.

Actually there is no stressful part working at the company I respect and love my job

Dealing with mental sometimes gives us more responsibilities

As a employee of the rah for many years the changes that have occured over the last two yeares have been extensive there has been a rush to get into the new hospital there for creating many problems which shoud have been sorted out before the handover took place.managment need to have a good look a why people are not happy with the rostering in particular when people request certain shift for family commitments

Everyone had a certain jobs to do in different areas. patients were visited all the time and in fact, the purpose of this job was to help patients. I learned the ability to talk confidently and more importantly to be sensitive towards people. The management was excellent and everything were going on time. Other colleagues were also helpful and nice. I was quite familiar with the job I was doing and I did not find it hard. The most enjoyable part of job was flowering and watering flowers.

Working here for two years I found it to be extremely disorganised, unstable, toxic, dysfunctional and poorly managed. Understaffed and overworked. Undervalued and unappreciated. No job security, they will keep putting you on temporary revolving contracts. No stability with daily duties, you can be placed in up to 3 different locations depending on lack of staff and where they need cover. Outpatients are renowned for being a pretty poor place to work. 

I have worked in several departments, orthopaedics and spinal injury for 2 years, bone infection, Plastics department, with a very supportive stuff  and co-workers, very  hactic and busy environment but  we work as a part of a multidisplinary  team so you have to be an effective member and will to teach and learn you assess and provide care for patients. I have worked as team leader several times but  no matter how much you know, everyday is a learning process

Old Management and oldRAH a very happy place to be plus patients always smiling and happy of our services to them..always gd complements..New Hospital poorly planned with new management everything was supposed to be bigger and better and rooms for every patient..But UNFORTUNATELY..this hospital was political and all abt money..not abt patients im sure you've seen the the news not 1 gd comment in 2yrs since we opened im just disgusted

I really enjoy working as a medical typist as I am a fast touch typist and would be looking at obtaining this kind of work in future. I also enjoy working in the medical field however as there are changes happening within the RAH am keeping my options open and know I would enjoy working in a clinic / doctors surgery/ pathology or radiology service privately

Workload was low. My main project was to create a Five Food Group Awareness Abstract/Poster which had submitted to the 10th Asia Pacific Conference on Clinical Nutrition 2017 held in Adelaide. I also participated in 2 healthy eating campaigns for elderly and designed healthy 7 days meal plan for children in child care center. Friendly seniors were willing to help and assit student.

I was undergoing placement at the infectious ward in the old Royal Adelaide hospital. I was able to acquire knowledge of various infectious diseases and the use of personal protective equipment. 
Was able to understand, In TB as it can be transmitted through airborne, the patient must stay in negative room pressure.
