I enjoyed my time at Rockpool as I genuinely felt like a valued member of the team. As I was only able to work there for 6 months due to my WHV, I was so sad to leave as I was really going to miss the team that I worked alongside. My managers were fair and considerate, and I was busy from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. The shift structure within our team was also ideal for us all and those with families were never given awkward times, and I was happy with my assignments. Any days off I required were always given (unpaid) without the risk of only being offered undesirable hours like some places do. In terms of job satisfaction, I left work each day knowing I had worked to the best of my ability and I hoped that came across to the guests I assisted each day.
The Leadership team were present and, unlike in other places I have worked personally, and from what I understand from friends and family, they spent a considerable amount of time with staff at all levels within the company to see how best to improve, become more efficient and effective, both for the staff and for customer satisfaction.

The worst place I have ever worked .The hours they make you work (use to clock out and still work).The management is a bunch of kids who are desperate for a visa to stay in Australia and they know that’s why they use them like puppets but they still expect their staff to make the money .There was absolutely no days of as you get emails and phone calles through out those days. You can’t get a peaceful day of as you are on the phone all the time . They don’t help their staff to grow professionally, once they don’t need you anymore they treat you like you’re stupid Always understaffed  as all the good ppl get treat bad from their management (talking about the Bavarian I worked for)and end up leaving,  7 general mangers have left in 3 years. Hours for casuals are ridiculous most of the time you only get 2 hours shift (waste of time )

I relocated in Sydney, Australia March 2016 and had the opportunity to work for one of the best hospitality companies.  I learned so much from my chefs, they taught me alot from as simple as slicing to as complicated as managing ordering of food and non food items.  I had the opportunity to handle a very diverse team and doing rosters as well.  Hardest part of the job is making sure everything is in place even before service starts, from schedules to preps down to meeting food cost and labour cost.  But at the end of the time, the job is very fulfilling.

Great and fun place to work, great work/life balance. Get to sample the various restaurants foods on Wednesdays too. Office is in a great location for travel. music on a Friday from the club below can be a little distracting from work, however is great for getting you into the mood of the weekend. Office was a little unorganized for me starting but, got there in the end.

Overtime. won’t pay you for it willingly..constantly dangle promotion opportunities In front of senior staff but not worth being underpaid through the whole training process. Make a lot of promises and push hard to keep labour tight - staff are often underbreaked and overworked. 

If you compare Rockpool to before Covid or before July 2022, it’s totally different in quality. 
It’s now all about money and quantity and all about pushing the numbers. All senior staffs mostly have left the company and most of the staffs there are newbies even the managers and some of the managers are rude and pretentious. They are all the reason no one want to stay there. Back then, it’s different and we serve with quality. 

I worked work for the marketing department during the day promoting their nightclub and attracting more business opportunities. In the evening I would work as a bartender and could be sent to any bar within the nightclub. I was an adaptable team member.

My experience was very disappointed. Maybe my expectations and theirs just didn’t much at all. All I can say is, from my point of view, I wasted my time and energy there.

it was the great experience, i learn alot from rockpool, and they teach me a lot, when ever i got difficulties, and the staff was friend and loving. i spend my almost 4 year in rockpool and i experience every venue of the rockpool, resturant was busy as well everyone was helping each other.

Good company if you're a favourite...otherwise no shifts. Some managers will help you out, otherwise you'll work 2 hours and then go home. Pay is decent (award level for new stands, enterprise agreement for old). Lots of visits from HO, some really strict people there
