River Island

I was there for 6 weeks on a temporary contract. I didn’t like the induction there because everything was just being thrown at me and they hyped me up by saying I’ll get training but I didn’t get any training at all so I didn’t really know what I was doing. 
I was stuck doing the same position for 6 weeks straight when I could’ve done something else during my time there.

Arranging clothes throughout the shop floor whilst also putting rejects from fitting rooms onto the shop floor and sorting out delivery orders every Tuesday. Management at store was poor and I think there needed to be a better relationship with members of staff to make them feel comfortable and welcome to the store.

The management at river island was great, i met a lot of people and i loved the environment i worked in. A typical day would consist of me stock counting and putting stock out as well as talking to customers about the products on offer at the store, also helping customers with enquirers or complaints as well closing the tills.

Always something to do.

nice place to work staff are friendly helpful and you are able to progress within the company,a typical day at work would be general house keeping to start the day and through out the day would be to provide customer service and to make sure stock is replenished.

the job i currently have is good as i earn a good wage for my age, also its fun to work with different people as i get to know other people and make work friends. There isnt a hard part of the job as the whole job is the same diffucuilty

They have given me the opportunity to achieve success within the retail business and expand my knowledge on how to service customers in working to the best of my ability

I felt welcome at RI, however, because I was so young, I wasn't respected. I was bossed about a lot and probably taken for a mug because I didn't understand the dynamics of a retail store.

My role has afforded the opportunities to develop a sound knowledge and skill base in dealing with customer complaints, queries and complex scenarios.
