Repco

I started with Repco 3 years ago as a casual driver and within 1 year advanced to Customer Service in Retail, Auto Parts Interpreter and now Trade Account Manager. I had no previous  experience in the Automotive industry. Being in my 50's with no experience, I didn't expect to really advance anywhere.

If you show dedication, the opportunities to grow and advance are unlimited. Most importantly, you must be a team player. Numerous online courses are provided to better educate you.

Repco also provide a range of services to support you and I was really impressed by this. I was away for a short time with a jolted knee and they organised my doctors, X-rays and physiotherapy. I was contacted on numerous occasions by my manager and area manager to check how everything was going and offers for additional support if I needed it.

In summary, working at Repco is like being with family. We all support each other and assist whenever required. If I had started working for Repco when I first left school, I would definitely still be working here.


A typical day working at Repco, would be to come in early with the manger, and open up the shop, putting the flags out side, unlocking the doors, and turning on the lights and opening the delivery doors.

After all this was done, we would check what has to be delivered to which company's, then we had to divide those items, into different categories for the drivers, the items that where to be picked up in store, where put onto a self with the companies name.

After this, myself and a few others, would then head around the shop and putting things that where misplaced, out of order, not lined up correctly and we would out them back how they where supposed to.

After this job was done, I'd head back to the counter and begin to serve customers.

Some times, id stay back and help close up the shop, which meant bring the flags back in, lock the doors, and then  closing the delivery doors, and turning the lights off.

Key Duties:
•	Solely responsible for all day-to-day management of a multi-faceted business that includes retail operations, trade clients and delivery vehicles/drivers

•	Establish and maintain a professional image to customers and the public 
•	Manage store expenses and performance results against budgets, and contribute to the development of annual budgets
•	Ensure accurate and timely completion of all financial, administration and safety documentation required by the business

was a great place to start working and the staff discounts were amazingly good. If your interested in getting into cars, would be a good starting job, but if you think it will be like the Racers Edge from fast and furious, your quite wrong. customers who come in mainly just want oil and filers for their 2006 camry and the rest is online orders or mechanics. But the worst part is pay and shifts, the pay is bare minimum which can be cancelled out by discount if you wish, but shifts are very unreliable especially in Covid times but this is mainly the horrible management that I'm sure you can read about on other peoples experiences as they are all true.

A typical day at work would include moving new stock into the store and into storage out the back.  From this I learnt basic stock filling and shelf filling and stocktake, I also learnt more about team work in a workplace environment.  Co-workers were supportive, easy to get along with and enthusiastic about hard work.  Hardest part of the job included carrying stock up stair lifts to high shelves for multiple hours.  The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing the stock neatly packed away after sorting and filling shelves.

I loved working for Repco, would always start early , so l would be organised. A typical day at work was cash handling, dealing with customers, answering a switchboard, taking care of debt recovery, invoices, getting every staff members coffee, typing out a summary of petty cash. answering customers queries. The work place was great had all staff help me if l needed it.. lthink the hardest part of my job was doing the end of the months conciliation as l only had a certain amount of time to do this. What l enjoyed about work were the staff and the customers.

Most people were nice to work with, the company is very fast paced at times however the team weren't always very enthusiastic, there is no consistency between store structures and systems however that allows each manager to personalise the systems in their stores, most days were fast paced and usually ran smoothly, there tends to be a lack of communication between management and staff.
getting to know the products and parts is the biggest challenge

Stock taking, Advising recommended parts/products to customers, Meeting general customer demands and processing customer purchases, Operating a cash register, handling money transactions and EFTPOS payments, Preparing for promotions of rearranging stock, adding signage and new catalogues, Proceeding an customer/trade order online or via call, Obtaining click & collect procedures, Promoting Repco by wearing REPCO uniform and delivery from warehouses.

work at repco was like working in any normal retail shop. stock in and out plus deliveries around town. special orders for customers from places like rocket performance, the most valuable thing i learnt was parts because im studying in the field of automotive and needed the knowledge on parts. co workers were easy to get along with and always willing to help. management was included with co workers always willing to pull there own weight and help if needed.
