Worked there for years without being fully trained in all sections.Management will ignore all your texts and calls even during emergencies. They became even more unprofessional and lazy during the pandemic where they dodge jobkeeper questions, asked me to do the jobkeeper paperwork and somehow lost it down the line, submitted everyone elses paperwork and didn't tell me they didn't give my paperwork in. Took me 2 weeks of asking to find this out. They will always be understaffed even during busy hours and refuse to call more staff to come in. I was part-time and they still chose to not roster me some weeks and I had to take out time in my day to go to the store and sort it out because they ignore texts and calls. All their pay rates are a joke, minimum wage and no chance of increasing it. We had 0 benefits. Other restaurants provide free meals on shift but Rashays wants you to pay for everything, They'd also rather throw away out of date products than let their employees have it, we were accused for stealing when we tried to take products they wanted to throw away. They want you to be doing something at all times even though literally everything is done, we were told to wipe the walls once, even though they were shining clean already. The only reason any of us had stayed was if we had staff that all got along but other than that, this company is a joke, stay away from them.

Before I joined Rashays, I had two offers lined up. But I chose Rashays because I thought a professional like myself with work experience at the Star Casino could actually make a difference but I was dead wrong. The staff, predominately Nepalese, Europeans and backpackers who can barely communicate were on the floor and kitchen. The FOH staff was inadequate. They wouldn't know how to take orders or take care of customers for that matter. Customers would raise their hands for attention but to no avail. I have seen customers taking matters in their own hands and picking up cutlery and napkins from the waiters' section. The kitchen, often they would pick food from the floor, wash it and then line up on the plates. Rashays serves Dark Side chicken with Dark Mushroom sauce. Once a chef made a mistake and made it with sauce. Upon realizing he then poured dark mushroom sauce on the top, hence making the dish utterly ugly to look at, and my customer wouldn't even touch it. The management is chaotic. The owner of the franchise is pretty nice but I feel bad for him because he has no prior experience in hospitality and is stuck with these problems. The floor is always a mess on busy nights, short on staff is in abundance and staff often shows up late. Rashays harbor side is bad news if you want to work. You are much better off to work next door at Hurricane Grill.

Do you want to feel under appreciated and disposable as an employee? Do you want to earn a terrible living wage in an unstable work environment? Do you enjoy being a glutton for physical and mental punishment?

Owned by a couple of psychopaths, Rashay's cares only about one thing....money! They will screw over anyone and the planet to make a profit. They throw away tonnes and tonnes of plastic waste away each day, and not into recycle bins either, just your general, landfill waste. No staff benefits, no care or training for staff. You are just another number and will be disposed of when necessary. They cut hours to save money, which means staff can turn up for work, then be told to sit down for 2 hours, unpaid, until they are needed. The management live in a bubble, with no real understanding of the reality in the stores ( I refuse to call them restaurants). The few that do, don't care as long as they get paid.
Avoid this company like COVID. Nothing good will come of it. Let this company disappear.

•	Able to work in a team or independently
•	Able to follow instructions and manage time to complete set tasks
•	Well-presented and friendly 
•	Work cooperatively with others and deal effectively with issues, problems and conflict.
•	Mature, responsible and willing to learn

Working at Rashays would have been a good, yet terrible experience I’ve ever had while in the work force.
Pros:
- Staff and store management had a close bond
(And thats about it!)
Cons:
Upper management (Area Manager and higher) seemed to have a lack of care about staff and store managment!
Everyone has been overworked with limited of staff, causing staff to work almost 7 days a week!
Our Restaurant Manager would be always in the restaurant, looking like he did not get enough sleep. I could tell he was being overworked and yet higher management did not care.
I have seen that upper management had decided to cut his responsibilities as a restaurant manager, resulting him to leave!

Upper management are really dodgy so be careful and thin twice before applying.

Staff are wonderful but its the Higher ups you have to look out for!

Highly recommend not applying here!

As much as I love my team and the people I work with, Rashays likes their money more than they value their staff.

I work underpaid according to the award and for unpredictable hours and days even though my contract states I am Permanent Part Time.
During any breaks we are allowed we have to pay full price for any food that we get even though we are there all day.

I have learnt many things through this company including data entry, purchase data, ordering, management, how to clean an entire kitchen in under half an hour and even that lemon juice will get rid of anything that you can't move with soap and water haha!

The best part of my job is the people I work with, I've made some amazing friends through this company.

The hardest part of my job is working until 12.30-1am on closes with no help or guidance.

The staff at Rashays mainly comrpises of highschool students with minimal or no experience. The interviewing process was easy and straightforward. The training process was also easy, the other members of staff are relatively young so it is easy to get along with each other. You learn to make different types of food including pasta, pizza, burgers etc. However, the more expensive menu items such as steak and bbq ribs are prepared and made by the head chef (which is understandable). Working at Rashays is perfect for someone who likes to be active, and loves a challenge. Long hours and the abundance may make you really tired at the end of the day however it is satisfying to progress from washing, to frying to making pasta etc. There's a lot of things to learn which is great for someone who enjoys cooking.

I’ve worked at RASHAYS for a collective time of 2 years and 5 months. 
There is such a high turnover of staff due to negligence and disrespect of staff members by the managers. 
One minute there’s managers and next minute there isn’t and we can’t fight it as we aren’t ever on management contracts which is not okay.
managers don’t take responsibility for things that their staff members told them and all that. 
I’ve been off for not 12 weeks due to having a baby and the negligence of getting paid maternity leave or anything is ridiculous and now don’t get replies for organising Centrelink to pay RASHAYS to pay my leave. Going now 6 weeks without pay is hard and frustrating. How am I supposed to live? Honestly.

I worked there for 4 years. The last 6 months under new management who were discriminatory and unprofessional. When complaining staff from head office stalked my personal social media. 
I was a shift manager with an RSA and license and had my shifts cut from 28 hours to 8 (the minimum), because I spoke up for the lack of training the new staff are receiving. 
The staff turnover rate since the new management has increased rapidly. If you want a career here don’t speak up. 
I thoroughly enjoyed the job, the customers, my staff and my initial boss. I enjoyed coming to work, until the change when I had to have meetings nearly every second week to address concerns and be ignored. 

As the store manager for the resturant i was fun and also a supportive resturant manager i was always there to lend a helping hand. I was highly involved in the traing structure and policies that were implemted within the resturant which made it easy for the new staff to adapt and gain experience. I enjoyed working in a large team and making the important descions and giving my team direction. I belive when i was at rashays the resturant was in constant growth and the strenght of the team i have created can not be broken. I implemented training schedual also threre are instore trainners that follow up on the new staff which as a all round team this creates strength.
