After signing in I would open the place up ready for salespeople to start the day, count the till in and then open up the backdock area ready to receive any stock from couriers. I would book stock in as it came in and ticket it to either be put away or unbox and prepare it for display. If it was truck day prepare outgoing stock and print off lists ready for the driver to sign. As the stock came off the truck I had to check it against the drivers manifest and sign off to say it was all there.After the truck had left I would book the stock in that came off the truck and ticket do location transfers and put it away as well as contact customers to advise that their stock was in.
I got a lot more confident on computers and I also learned how to do the banking if no-one else was available. One of the biggest learning curves for me was learning how to rattify the stocktakes as we did them every month so sometimes it seemed that you just finished one and the next one was here but you learned that you needed to hustle so that you could do precounts and rolling stocktakes so that there shouldn't be too many surprises when the company one rolled around. 
There were a few times where I had to fill in when a manager quit to start a new job and they couldn't get anyone here for a couple of days. It was mostly just making sure that people were turning up on time and opening and closing the store.
I found the culture there pretty good as long as you did your job efficiently and maintained the goals the company set but I guess most places would be the same.
To me the hardest part of the job was probably the lifting but you found ways to cope with that part of it.
The most enjoyable part was the interaction with the customers and the other workers. Being able to help someone find the perfect thing that they are looking for is a great feeling.

This was a great working experience for me with many challenges different to my previous experience. I enjoyed the sales & staff management side very much. It was a very challenging role at times as all retail management positions can be , the biggest being the successful transition to a new revamped store & new company direction. The customer service was the most enjoyable part of my day, helping customers to meet their needs. I learnt a great deal from the Store manager & also about my own management style, what worked & what I needed to work on. Things that I believe have made me a better employee & better manager for the future. I left due to family reasons & am now in a position looking for my future career.

I would arrive and start by viewing emails and acting on them.
Checking SNAP which was a spreadsheet with percentages of your arrears for the whole country then by states and then individual stores. Making sure you had regimes in place to have your arrears at the required National levels.

I would have discussions with staff members in regards to telephone conversations how to get positive outcomes and then how to enter data in a easy to read format.

Hardest is Constant rejection.

The most enjoyable part of the job is to get a positive outcome that suits both parties.

I learnt the value of working within a very small store team and accepted that it was going to be challenging was I understood this I just ran with the ball so to speak and we all became very focussed towards results and we achieved a lot in 4 months together as a team.

Hardest part was debt collecting from customers in arrears it was hard separating the emption when your taking back a childs xbox.

Over the last 3 years Radio Rentals has suffered from increased legislation, a civil law suit (class action) and ASIC  investigations, the company has downsized twice in 18 months and is potentially going to get further reductions, work life balance has been reduced dramatically with less staff working more days and longer hours on a shuffle of hours. They have reduced employee benefits such as vehicles and are offering very little in return for the increased hours, reduced time with family and the reduction of perks.

Overall the experience I had at Radio Rentals was challenging. Radio Rentals can be a stressful work environment at times, having to deal with abusive customers and trying to meet the customers requests was at times quite stressful.
The team I worked with at Radio Rentals was fantastic. The company was also very helpful with any work requirements you have. The company also found team building BBQ's and lunches to reward our efforts.
Overall a good company to work for

I enjoy working in this particular role most! Due to the opportunities that arose from it! I started out in my first ever Sales role and really enjoyed it smashing store monthly kpi's and also store targets! I then Advanced quickly into Arrears and Field visits assisting regularly in deliveries and eventually moved into the co-management of our store warehouse.

Great place to work but lacking in financial remuneration considering the effort and job skills required of staff. Limited training and promotion opportunities given financial and legislative road blocks. 
Great staff to work with but otherwise not a great company.  Too much focus on milking a customer of money they don't have and for products they don't necessarily need.

Company was well establish in the area of renting electric artefacts and televisions, At that time i did not have enough experience in that area, so I was limited to the cashier area, but I was looking more in the area of accountancy, but unfortunately it did not eventuate.

My store and team I managed were like a 2nd family, we were and still are close,  even though shop fronts were closed for good nationally.

My old manager who employed me I am still very close to, I have made many life long friends.

My store again our culture and work ethic was important to us, we made sure day to day we went above ad beyond with every person we interacted with
