A typical day at work involves starting early to prioritize tasks, respond to emails, and attend morning meetings for updates and planning. The hardest part of the job lies in managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines, which demands resilience and strategic prioritization. However, the most enjoyable part is witnessing the tangible impact of our collective efforts, celebrating successes with colleagues, and continually learning from diverse perspectives within our team.

My typical day at Reading cinemas consists of continuous customer service, attending to customer complaints and making sure the customer is satisfied before they leave the complex. Other daily tasks that I deal with are phone bookings, organising stock, stock take, organising roster changes and cleaning is a major part of my daily work tasks.
I have learned a lot while working at Reading cinemas and picked up many skills. One being how to deal with stressful situations and coming to productive solutions. 
The management at Reading cinemas are friendly, helpful, and fair with the decisions made affecting employees. 
The hardest part of my job is attending to large amounts of people in short amounts of time. For example on weekends we serve 200-500 people within half an hour on the weekends, with the help of my co-workers. 
All my co-workers work together as a team and are there to help each other on a daily basis, while also completing individual tasks.
The most enjoyable part of my job has been communicating with day to day customers and regular customers, while making their visit to the cinema a special experience every time.

Workplace bullying by managers throwing their weight around.

Concerned that Head office allow managers to flex their control like a dictatorship.

Shame because it's such a fun environment and they could actually motivate staff to stay and perform better however the attitude of management is evident in the high staff turn over and low team morale.

Also very evident is that there are favourite employees that get to hang out in the office with managers and get all the shifts while the rest get 1 short shift a week. Everyone works hard here.

Reading Cinema Head Office: time to audit this store, workplace relations and staff morale. You may actually make a profit if you had happy motivated employees instead of fearful ones.

Hopefully someone will take note and make some big changes at this cinema. It's way overdue.

A typical day entailed constant cleaning of cinemas, lobbies and amenities whilst trying to ensure customer service was optimal. Gained experience in patience and customer service. Management was poor, with only 8 hours a week being achieved by some junior staff. Shifts could be cut short due to lack of customers at the workers expense. Co-workers were pleasant and experienced, but sometimes lacked direction and were less than helpful with completing tasks. The hardest part of the job was trying to juggle cleaning duties with customer service duties. More often than not we could be inundated with customers which often caused a great deal of stress on the already understaffed staff. The most enjoyable part of the job was the incredible discounts. Cheap food and drinks from the candy bar and $2 movie tickets.

Workplace is engaging and involves a lot of collaborative team work and motivation. Everyone at Reading Elizabeth Adelaide South Australia are easy to get along with and compliant. Management team is strict enough but great to strike a conversation with. Highly recommend working here at Reading Elizabeth!

The job itself is very good and rewarding. But the head Manager is very unforgiving and speaks rudely. She doesn't give you a chance to properly correct your mistakes and nor adequate time to close your till before you are suppose to finish. Didn't properly get paid for over time (if still cleaning up past when I was meant to finish) = contradictory. Gets angry at you for not leaving on time when your cleaning, but then get angry at you the next shift for not cleaning it up the night before. 

Doesn't properly fire/let you go either. Just stops giving you shifts, and because you have bills to pay you find temporary second job, waiting for shifts that never come.

Management at Rouse Hill are terrible, yelling and embarrassing staff in front of customers, talk down to staff, and are not pleasant overall. High turn over of staff due to the the above as well irregular shifts often shifts are weeks apart. Management frequently employ new people and well trained staff get less shifts, many are forced to hold multiple jobs, from a management point of view this is poor judgement. No staff are trained in safety, no fire drills ever. Abuse from customers as cinema runs out of basic essentials ice creams, sizes of popcorn and water.

If this is your first job it will provide you with decent amount of experience with customer service and working within a team based environment.
+ Work is well structured and training is comprehensive
+ The team you work with can be super friendly
- Not many shifts and hours given out per week, it was not uncommon to be sent home after only working an hour even if it was your only shift for the week
- Over holidays seasons the work can be quite challenging.

Reading Cinemas on the Gold Coast and working there was the best job I’ve ever had. The people I worked ended up being my family; I loved serving customers and cleaning cinemas as I would dance to the music while I cleaned. I had many different roles such as a team leader for the candy bar, a cinema cleaner or working at the gold lounge.

Working at Reading Cinemas was a wonderful experience, some team members had opportunities to switch departments from Gold Class to Main Cinemas. We did many activities such as food delivery, cinema cleaning, cashier roles, food picking, overall cleaning and ticket counting.
