Worst job experience I've ever had with a company. They micromanage every part of your day. They scrutinise you for going to the bathroom and expect you to answer calls while dealing with tickets at the same time. There is no room to breath.

You have to be on time other wise you get penalised for it and remove you from the company.
There was no connection with the team, the manager or the second in command. Complete outsider for a new starter. Red flags from the beginning.

The hardest part of the job was trying to stay positive while working in this place. Every person that I was on the phone with was nice and understanding which is the complete opposite for the team and management. There was no support for starting out, they just threw you into the fire and hoped that you survived.

The most enjoyable part was leaving at the end of the day.

This job at RAC stressed me out so much that when I left, a huge weight was lifted off. 

Very excited to get the job with RAC WA. Training was great bus as soon as you’re out of training it becomes a toxic environment. Extremely micromanaged, down to your toilet breaks. KPI’s are set at ridiculous targets. They say they are “for the better” and “they’re for the members” but all they care about are sales, even if the member has told you they are going through financial hardship you’re still expected to try and sell them your products. My over excitement of getting the job quickly turned into constant anxiety, isolation and the feeling of not being good enough. They say all the right things but with no follow through. Always asking you to work overtime but when you need to 2 hours from work for appointments they expect you to make up the hours even if you’ve done overtime. 

A typical day at RAC involves speaking to different customers, and helping them with their enquiry over the phone. Working hard to meet KPI's is a must. I learnt fantastic customer service skills through extensive training provided, which included many different ways of handling conversations in a personal yet still professional manner. Management at RAC are extremely supportive, as are co-workers making going to work easy as can be! The hardest part of working at RAC for me was being sat down for such long periods of time on a daily basis. The most enjoyable part was the wide variety of people I was able to help through great conversations.

Enjoyed working at RAC in the Commercial Team. The Manager was phenomenal and the team extremely friendly. RAC HQ is also located conveniently within the greater CBD so transport access is great. 

Culture is what makes RAC and this is reflected in the average tenure of employees. RACWA is an organisation that started as a pure insurer but is pivoting into other areas as it tries to meet the needs to WA residents in ways other than pure insurance. Whether that pivot will work long term is yet to be seen but an organisation that recognises the need to change and takes proactive steps is one worth joining. I would recommend working at RAC.

I love providing quality customer service, but I hate this job. The training is absolutely abysmal. They do not prepare you at all for the actual job, instead it is more of a corporate culture brainwashing program. The staff turnover rate is extremely high. More than 80% of my training group quit in the first six months. I made it a year hoping it would get easier and there would be some financial incentives for meeting KPIs, but so far it has just been more stress, more responsibilities and expectations, and no incentives or recognition for achievements. The micromanagement and constant negative feedback is not good for my mental health so I will be leaving.

Love the fact that it is giving back to members with the 24 hour RAC Helicopter and educating the next generation of drivers on road safety through BStreetSmart and the Elephant in the Wheatbelt.

Within RAC Insurance, lots of recognition and focus on development of employees. Engagement is in the best employer range and NPS is excellent. New CEO is focusing on innovation and empowering employees to better support the member going forward.

Giving customer service by telephone each day,  helping with any queries sending the right assistance out to the customer.  Joining up new members and updating customer members so they get the best membership for their lifestyle.  Management was always available for help and listened to any problems.  The most difficult times were when we were understaffed and experiencing a high volume of calls.  Working in a team environment and helping team members to work at their best and being able to help the person on the line by resolving their problem when they we in need.

Worst place to work since they have merged call centres together. Expect us to achieve unrealistic KPIS and then tell us off when we don’t achieve them. Double standards, don’t care about worker’s mental health states or conditions. Expect the workers to have their life revolved around the company and that makes it hard to plan anything. All they care about is that the big bosses get their triple figure bonus every year while the workers that actually do the work for them to get that gets nothing in return apart from harsher working conditions

Fast paced and a lot to take in but training is thorough. Lots of people who will go above and beyond helping you in any way that they can. 
Can be stressful if you are not used to it but put in the effort and ask for help and you will succeed. Lots of opportunities to progress.

Impossible targets, KPI's expect so much from you and get nothing in return
